Stealth Meditation Tip from @sharonsalzberg Real Happiness at Work- “Read an entire email twice before composing a response.” .

My first response to this idea was strong resistance. I get so many emails each day. There’s no way I can read them twice. However I decided to experiment with this. Here are my findings:
✨ Re-reading an email, especially one that gives me an emotional charge, gives me a bit of space for me to think before I react and respond hastily. I am a human who has occasionally misread the tone or content of an email and jumped to conclusions.
✨ Re-reading an email helped me to better grasp the information and provide a more useful, productive response.
✨ Re-reading an email helps remind me that there is another human on the end of the message.
✨I may not read every email twice always. However if an email does require a response, to me it is worth the few extra seconds to read and respond mindfully.

Weighing Yourself: UNDERSTAND IT

Before you get on the scale each morning, its important you understand the variables that effect it before you let it effect your views, mood and enthusiasm for the day ahead. This is also why its important to create a positive and educated body image for yourself. Things that will effect your weigh in:

1. The amount of carbs you ate the day before: eating 1g gram of carb can potentially cause you to store 3-4g of water intracellularly. This water retention can increase scale weight, but this is not body fat. Only a calorie surplus will do that.

2. Food still in your digestive system. If you have had slower or less frequent bowel movements, or you are having digestive issues this could also increase scale weight as there is more food still in your system then normal.

3. Eating a large meal closer to bed time. This will combine point 1 and 2 as it means more carbs and more food in your system leading you to weigh heavier the next morning.

4. Weighing yourself at a different time in the morning. The later your weigh in, the lighter you will tend to be. So if you weigh yourself earlier then normal or after less sleep, you could be heavier.

5. Increased sodium in our meals the day prior. If you have eaten processed food or any food with high sodium levels,  it could also increase water retention.

Other things that will effect it are stress, illness, inflammation, a females time of the month, among many other variables. Bear all this in mind when conducting your weigh ins.

Energetically, Monday’s are just not my day. Over the last few weeks I’ve noticed that Monday’s are my prep day rather than my full on action day. After the weekend, it’s nice to feel my way into a new week with more thought and alignment. It’s nice to have a day to contemplate the kind of week I want to have, how I want to show up and the kind of people and connections I want to have. Energetically, Monday’s are just not my day. Over the last few weeks I’ve noticed that Monday’s are my prep day rather than my full on action day. After the weekend, it’s nice to feel my way into a new week with more thought and alignment. It’s nice to have a day to contemplate the kind of week I want to have, how I want to show up and the kind of people and connections I want to have. It was a quick but intense #kitchenworkout! Sweat dripping down my neck. Felt so good. I didn't have to worry about food tonight as we got Thai Food takeout. I has rice with soy sauce, chicken and pineapple with veg and my husband got some egg noodles with beef and veg. We also got some zucchini lasagna from my parents. Bonus. Yaaaay. #GoodMonday .

The labrum is the cup-shaped rim of cartilage that lines and reinforces the ball and socket joint of the shoulder, which is comprised of the glenoid - the shallow shoulder socket - and the head, or ball, of the upper arm bone known as the humerus. The labrum is the attachment site for the ligaments and supports the ball and socket joint along with the rotator cuff tendons and muscles. It contributes to shoulder stability and, when torn, can lead to partial or complete shoulder dislocation.

Unfortunately, labral tears are hard to prevent, especially in athletes, because the force of the overhead motion contributes to the injury. Surgeons will usually conduct a physical exam and MRIor x-ray, if necessary, to determine the severity of the injury and the treatment needs.

SLAP tears are usually treated with rest, anti-inflammatory medications and, in some cases, an in-office cortisone injection. This is followed by gradual stretching of the shoulder, initially with a physical therapist.  Your physical therapist will provide gentle manual (hands-on) therapy to decrease your pain and begin to restore movement in the shoulder area. Strengthening exercises. Improving the strength of the muscles of the shoulder will help you decrease the stresses placed on the torn labrum and allow for better healing.

This little monkey is my biggest challenge in life so far. He’s beautifully smart, extremely sensitive, massively curious, full of energy at 10pm 3am,  it’s unpredictable when he will sleep through and when he does it’s oh so good. He’s happy playing on his own, never short on cuddles but is really struggling with expressing himself. His emotions get the better of him and it’s quite the battle to not let my emotions get the better of me when he’s throwing himself around. I’ve created a house of lights for him to come home to from nursery tonight and although exhausted I’m excited to see his beautiful face light up. The tv will not be on tonight the house will be a place of calm, wonder and surprises so wish me luck with this as my head feels like it’s about to pop juggling work, making lotions and potions and relationships. I know I’m not the first to have a toddler and I understand there are millions of parents who go through more with multiple children and I completely applaud you it’s tougher than I had ever imagined but wouldn’t change a single minute of it..... life is beautiful 🙏

This little monkey is my biggest challenge in life so far. He’s beautifully smart, extremely sensitive, massively curious, full of energy at 10pm 3am, it’s unpredictable when he will sleep through and when he does it’s oh so good. He’s happy playing on his own, never short on cuddles but is really struggling with expressing himself. His emotions get the better of him and it’s quite the battle to not let my emotions get the better of me when he’s throwing himself around. I’ve created a house of lights for him to come home to from nursery tonight and although exhausted I’m excited to see his beautiful face light up. The tv will not be on tonight the house will be a place of calm, wonder and surprises so wish me luck with this as my head feels like it’s about to pop juggling work, making lotions and potions and relationships. Misty sunrise on a #camping trip in the NSW countryside in Autumn.  Living off the grid for a week is so quiet and peaceful.  Cooking over a camp fire, solar showers, doing farm chores, roasting marshmallows, kicking a ball, playing scrabble, drawing, watching kangaroos ... so many wonderful moments. 🐑

Not sure exactly who coined the phrase “Don't get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life”- I’ve seen Dolly Parton given the credit but at any rate- I don’t know about you but my god can I relate to this. .

It’s so profound and we can forget who we truly are, what lights our hearts up and what moves the magic in our souls when we get so caught up in the web of work horse mode, taking care of everyone else’s needs and tackling life’s mundane tasks. 
Sometimes it takes a major meltdown and health issues that rear their ugly head to make us stop, pause, have a really good cry and wake us back up to our “why” “what” and “who”. 💗
