The maker's life is a busy one, with lots of toys to make, especially around the holidays and lots of shows to attend. But it's especially important when things are hectic, to take time for ourselves. Self care and #selflove are critically important heading into show season!
One of the ways we look after ourselves, and each other, is to make sure we take for a tea break. And it's even better when we can have tea time with family, like this #TBT with our son @gerrythorpe.
You can see many other @ooak_toronto artisans at the table for tea time too. Today the cup Jerry is holding is by The Pottery - @paulthepottery . The cream and sugar pieces and the fish cup Rosemary is holding is from @leishmanpottery - Connie and Mike. The tea cozy is Rain Goose Textiles from North Vancouver. The bowl with the fruit is from Patrick Yeung Ceramics @patrickyeungceramics. The third cup on the table was made by E. W. Lunn. The hearts on the wall are by @ateliertrema - MarieJoel . And the art on the wall is a piece by our daughter Christine Thorpe, from Exshaw, AB.
This is one of the joys of hand crafted items, while they become a part of your life, they also bring a little bit of the people who make them into your life as well. .
