Everyone hates someone else's blurry #cellphone#concertphotography . But..I saw one of my top 3 favorite bands tonight, @garbage . Can't tell you what their music has meant to my life. It's the soundtrack for most major changes. Maybe The Duke saw me, @jocbothe & @dawnasaurus_rex dancing up in the orchestra, who knows..? #shirleymanson spoke up in favor of #transrights & shared her inspiration for #cherrylips . Many inspiring moments but the thing that made me yell was when Shirley referenced one of my other top 3.. @siouxsiesiouxpage . She sang a little bit of "Happy House", a song that blew teenage me's mind..! Shirley's reaction to @siouxsiesiouxpage was so similar to mine.."look at what this awesome creative weirdo is doing, & thriving..I want some of that." @garbage , thx for saying it wasn't always easy for you. As an artist who's had some struggles w/ health, harassment, etc, it was something I needed to hear.. You all are amazing & though 40's me doesn't bounce back after shows like 20's me did, you keep playing them & I'll keep going. Washington DC loves you, Duke, Steve, Nick, Butch & Shirley. #concerts#lincolntheatre#washingtondc#special#ithinkimparanoid#pushit#thetrickistokeepbreathing#friends#garbagelive#rockgoddess
Nigerian Man Sworn In As Judge In USA Weeks After His Appointment.
A Nigerian man, Edirin Okoloko, has been officially sworn in as a Judge in the State of Washington, USA. His swearing-in ceremony was held on Saturday, October 20th (yesterday), weeks after his appointment by governor, Jay Inslee governor of Washington.
Gov. Jay Inslee appointed the 13-year veteran of the county’s prosecutor’s office to replace retiring Judge George Bowden.
Okoloko was born in Nigeria, and received law degrees at the University of Benin and the Seattle University School of Law, according to the governor’s office. He served as a law clerk for former Snohomish County Superior Court Judge Michael Downes, who retired this year.
Okoloko has prosecuted murders, sexual assaults, child abuse and elder abuse.
“Edirin has a clear dedication to the legal profession and a successful history of bringing justice to some of our state’s most vulnerable crime victims,” Inslee said in a prepared statement. “He will be an excellent addition to the bench in Snohomish County.”
