Sometimes, a break is wanted.
A break from the necessary and the “have to’s.”
I’m tucked away in the forested mountains without cellular service, internet, work, appointments, chores...
This pause has me thinking... How many tasks or relationships are in your life that merit the phrase, “I don’t want to but I have to,” and what is true in that statement?
I often catch myself and hear it from friends, “I have to do/see/go _____, but I really don’t want to.”
Don’t you get to choose where you spend your time and energy and with whom you spend it? And if what your doing isn’t necessary, wanted, or for the highest good, can’t you make a change or a shift somewhere? Or maybe we like to say we “have to” as an escape from ownership or power?
I’ll be back and ready to share, teach, learn, support, fight, uplift, protest and take action for what I want and find important very soon.
Right now, a break is wanted.
My next email will go out on Friday. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with you and exploring this topic of personal choice.
