One of the reasons of why we have chose to homeschool the children next year ~ is that they dont miss out on moments like these.
Many dicussions, pros and cons in this subject for alot of parents out there, no its not for everyone (hey, we are still yet to give this a go, so will let you know if we survive haha!). But we decided to give this a shot as they are at a young age, vibrant, curious and developing into the world of questions sometimes we cant answer for! (Dont you hate that?) And our usual response sometimes come down to "its just the way it is!"
But it doesnt have to be... we have to make that change in order to explore, to wander, to learn and spend these precious moments with them ~ before you know it, they are out your door!
We have taken the kids out on our own excursion which didnt cost a thing to witness natures wonders ~ the Flatback Sea Turtle, that is known for only in surrounding Australian waters and lucky enough to witness this one laying here in one of the Pilbara's beaches.
Teaching them about their habitat, growth, weight and many more gives a ticks off one of the subjects of the curriculum!
Made it to LONDON! (And holy brrr! ❄️) Ran by @BuckinghamPalace this morning where a headwind + rain + sub 40 degrees made navigating... an adventure. 6.2 🏃🏼♀️miles. So many 'must see' items on the 'ol bucket list. Can't wait to check what other royal gems we'll stumble on. 🏰🇬🇧 #runsploring
Self-love has been a lifelong pursuit. I still have to practice un-learning 28 years’ worth of bs about being “not enough”. We are taught from a young age how to be the woman men/society wants, but who do those ideas serve?
When I began to see myself, not externally through the lens of a man / others, but from within, as a creative power alive with the same atoms and stardust that make up all of the universe, I began to get deeply in touch with my sense of self-love and power. .
Perhaps to society’s impossible standards of perfection, I would never ‘be enough,’ but to the entirety of the cosmos, I am enough. I must be, because this inexplicable, mysterious, grandiose life force is living through me.
The stability of my self-love began when I saw myself through the eyes of this life force, that which beats my heart and breathes my lungs. .
Self-love is contrary to everything we have learned. It benefits capitalism for us to feel ‘less than,’ we become perfect little obedient consumers of a marketplace. .
Perhaps, then, true self-love is one of the most revolutionary acts we can practice. .
I encourage all my brothers and sisters to try speaking toward themselves the way they would a loved one. Give yourself all the love you would give someone else. Discipline and treat yourself when you need it. Allow yourself to be your priority. .
