When I’m happier, I eat more. And when I’m sad or lonely or anxious or scared, I don’t. I’ve always been this way and probably will always be. It’s not the “emotional eating” people typically think of, but it’s emotional eating, and that is O K A Y.
Our culture tends to put so much emphasis on ~balance~ (which is considered a BAD thing in other cultures but that’s a topic for another time) but mislabels what balance really means.
Balance isn’t always having 3 “healthy” meals and one tiny cookie in a day. Maybe it is one day, but maybe the next day it’s eating 3x as much and the next day not being as hungry. Maybe it’s going a month or 2 in excess because FUN THINGS HAPPEN and you’re living. Maybe it’s being super busy for a while and focusing on things other than your health and nutrition. Not only is balance more long-term than we believe, but so is nutrition in general.
It’s okay if you don’t get 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. It’s okay if you get none some days. Because some days you’ll get lots. It’s okay to eat more protein some days and more fat others. It doesn’t have to be and isn’t natural to be measured out to be the exact same daily.
Our emotions play into this balance to contribute to how and what we eat. Don’t feel like you should ignore how you feel and ignore a desire to follow your emotional hunger cues. Everything works out
After the feedback from my Beauty of Blood Sugar Balancing crew, I’m coining my granola squares the game changing granola squares! I knew people would love them as much as I do, not only because they are delicious, but so satiating! Recipe below!
PROTEIN GRANOLA SQUARES
1.5 cup nuts + seeds (think equal parts pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, hemp seeds etc).
1/2 cup shredded coconut flakes
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons protein powder of choice
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 cup nut butter of choice
1/3 cup coconut nectar (honey would work too)
1/2 cup melted coconut oil
1 egg, beaten (or 2 egg yolks)
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper.
Place nuts/seeds, and coconut flakes in a food processor until finely chopped. Transfer to a large bowl. Add protein powder, sea salt and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
In a separate bowl, add nut butter, coconut nectar, and coconut oil. Whisk to blend. Add egg and whisk again.
Incorporate wet mixture into dry and stir until sticky batter is formed. Transfer to baking dish and press firmly until evenly distributed.
Bake 30 minutes, or until edges are golden brown, turning halfway to ensure even cooking.
Allow to completely cool before slicing into squares. I even suggestion transferring to fridge before slicing so coconut oil "hardens" and keeps everything held together!

This class provides an understanding of the mental and emotional patterns created from trauma, and how to draw on spiritual and energetic techniques to heal these patterns. A discussion of trauma from a psycho-spiritual perspective will provide an understanding of how core patterns of belief are created between the mind and emotions, and how this affects the physical form. Each individual will have the opportunity to heal a past traumatic event as a group through a guided meditation paired with the sounds and vibrations of quartz crystal singing bowls. An opportunity to process your experience after the meditation will be offered as we hold sacred space for one another to release the bonds of trauma and emotional wounds of the past.

I am an all or nothing kind of person, or at least I was.
Before I started this program in currently doing, I had an all or nothing mentality when it came to my fitness and nutrition.
Maybe some of you can relate?🤷🏻♀️ If I was exercising it was somehow easier in my mind to keep my nutrition on track.
If I was eating poorly, I was not motivated to exercise. And so the cycle continued. For YEARS.
I wanted to make a change, but I didn’t know where to start.
I’m super busy so I wanted to maximize my time (it’s about being smarter, not working harder). I’ll be honest, I felt lost.
I needed the proper tools and resources to set me up for success.
That’s why I LOVE what I’m doing now.
My nutrition plan is easy to follow and keep on point.
I get my workouts in on my schedule, from home, with minimal equipment.
I’m part of an amazing, encouraging and supportive community😊
It’s the trifecta of wellness.
Honestly the hardest part was taking that first step.
Making the decision and committing to the change.
Let me tell you, the ride has been amazing so far!
