Servicing your community is the only way to build it up! Last weekend Sorors volunteered at the UCAN College Fair; emphasizing the importance of #scholarshipfirst , building networks and sisterhood, giving back to your community, and becoming a Finer Woman. The Outstanding Omega Lambda Zeta Chapter enjoyed bonding with the young ladieZ who approached our table and telling them about our scholarship application and our illustrious organization 💙🕊 #zetaphibeta#scholarshipfirst#zetaslovethestudents#volunteer#service#collegefair#UCAN
Today we spent a few hours of this cold and drizzly day inside learning how to be better mentors to the students our team works with for the Stay In School program that @rotaryyyc facilitates. #yyc#rotary#stayinschool#giveBack#volunteer
This week, we had the great opportunity to talk to young locals from the province of Santa Fe about their thoughts and wishes for the future. I hope that we could inspire you to use your strengths to create the future you want to live in! 🙏

I have so many mixed feelings after volunteering at today’s “out of darkness walk”. Wrote the story with 3 paragraphs describing how I feel and erased it. I wish no one ever would be affected by suicide. I know that pain will always live in the heart and soul. I’m glad we all can support each other #afsp#chicago#outofthedarkness#volunteer#stopsuicide
Some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That's about one in nine people on earth. The vast majority of the world's hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished. Tonight a child will go to bed hungry. Thanks for helping us fed lunch to 100 children in Peru on May 19, 2018

Boats on the Bay!
Volunteer Appreciation Outing!
My Friend's House Foundation would like to thank all of the volunteers who came out to our volunteer appreciation "Boats on the Bay" outing. For almost 10 years you have given your love, commitment, and dedication in assisting us with our mission, which is to provide for the economically disadvantaged individuals in our community. We appreciate you all and celebrate you! ☆
A special thank you to our "Boats on the Bay" Captains Rodney, Blue, and Mike, for making this a memorable event! We would also like to thank Luxury Auto Collection @lacscottsdale for your contribution to this event and to MFHF. Until the next voyage, live2give with #MFHF and #wefeedthehungry .
This Tuesday the 25th is the first tutoring session of the new school year and our students are so excited! But we need you! Returning tutors, email us about joining.
New tutors, sign up for our next orientation in October.
This photo was taken in August on a fantastic field trip to San Diego State organized by one of our lead tutors. 🏫Students were able to take a tour with tutors who work at SDSU, hang out with SDSU students (including one of our very own longtime tutors) and meet a refugee student who plays basketball at SDSU! We wanted to show our students what is possible, open their eyes to their futures and allow them to see the university that is just a few minutes from their neighborhood! 🎓 They all were very engaged, asked great questions and now have a mental picture of what 'college' and the 'college life' looks like. THIS is the very real goal we are working towards here at SDRT. Thank you to all who make it happen! 🙏🏼
Today, while on a bus, there was a man who left his belongings at the bus stop in Boston and didn’t realize until we had left. The man must have been in his late seventies to eighties.
Without hesitation, a young (hockey player) stood right up when the bus stopped and ran back to the stop to get his bag for him.
Such a simple thing to do, but so very kind and loving. Even though I didn’t leave my bag, watching it, made my day. It matters how we love one another, folks.
When we are able, and can give ourself freely to others without depleting our own energy and without any expectations of anything in return, we should look for opportunities to help others.
No matter big or small, noticed or unnoticed, acts of kindness can make all the difference in your life or someone else’s.
What acts of kindness have you witnessed today?
What small or big thing can you do today to support someone or something else?
In this week’s #cworkslovesparents post, CharacterWorks is proud to feature Janet and Trenton H.! These two have been a part of CWorks for many years - their daughter, Hailey, has performed in over 26 shows in her time with us. This fall, Hailey has been cast as Miss Stacy in Anne of Green Gables and Janet and Trenton will be serving as the chairs of the Raffle Committee (as well as helping with set construction). We are so thankful for the great work that this family does to ensure that each raffle is both successful and top-notch! Thank you!! #parent#volunteer
WORDS CAN'T EXPRESS HOW GRATEFUL I AM...
to have these two amazing human beings join me half way around the world on my first Capitole Teaching Volunteer trip. Imran and I met in November of 2016 while volunteering in the Philippines (we only bonded for a week) and have been talking about volunteering again with children for over a year. It's crazy to think that the day has finally come and here we are... in Vietnam together!!! And he brought one of his besties Jessica along for the wild ride. 🎢
The love they have for children and giving their time to be a part of something so much bigger than themselves is so inspiring. It shows in the work that they do (lawyer and social worker for families) and in their want to travel in an unselfish manner with a greater purpose than just going away on a vacation abroad. #humanitarianhearts indeed. 💗🌏💗
Once upon a time, over a decade ago, I was just a girl who fell into the opportunity to volunteer a part of my life, in another world, to better someone else's. Over the past three years it has become a mission of mine to inspire others to have the chance to do the same, with the end result of acquiring a soulfully rewarding experience that will be remembered for life.
@imz33 and @jessiejune14 thank you from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of Capitole Montessori and all the cutie patootie children here, for sharing your beautiful spirits, love, laughter and skills with us all. You have brought light into our lives this past week and it ain't over just yet.
One week down... one more to go.
We won't have enough time to do all things that we want to do. You just may have to stay another week. Sorry, not sorry. 😆
Repost from @authoruntamed using @RepostRegramApp - My family and I were proud to represent MADD today in conjunction with Von Johnson’s National Day of Remembrance Walk and Program for the victims and survivors of those who lost their lives due to violence or other tragic circumstances. It was an honor to heard from Senator Harold Jones on initiatives that we can aid in helping to push for victims rights. And one of my books was given to one of MADDs supporters! It was truly a heartfelt day.
