Did you know Billings is home to the only zoo in Montana? @zoomontana is a must see during a trip to Billings! Open all year round! Here are a couple fun facts about our fabulous Zoo! • All of the animals outdoors are native to regions at or above the 45th parallel, meaning they are in their natural habitats and don’t spend half the year in a barn. • The Zoo is also one of Montana’s few arboretums. • During the holidays the Zoo has an awesome light display!
Be sure to check out the Zoo for many more awesome fun facts and animal encounters!

What an incredible day! Started out working with the best team there is! We had the pleasure of providing excellent hospitality to over 30 schools for the NCAA XC Regional championships. Then, my little Cat fan and I got to send off our Tyler on his last Twirp ever. I’m feeling so blessed today... and a little tired! #visitbillings#ncaacrosscountry#workingmomlife @tiesun4 @lukeashmore @alymurnion @_tyhall_
Folks, it was a wild ride, but we made it. Well, half of us made it, after 32 hours of travel, 22 of which were spent in SeaTac, and more cancelled, delayed, and switched flights than a pair of coaches should have to deal with. Godfrey and Nick represented the boys team well with a pair of solid races, and the girls team finished 6 places higher than last year. Both races were in beautiful, sunny, 20° weather. I am so proud of and grateful for the amazing hearts and attitudes of the whole team, those who raced and those whose trip had to be cut short.
Looking for a comfortable place to warm up? @lastchancecider has all the cozy vibes and is definitely one of our go-to spots during the cold season. Grab a hot bowl of their daily special soup and snuggle up in front of the fireplace😌
#tbt We had a screaming good time during Downtown Trick or Treat last Wednesday👻 The streets were crawling with little ghouls and ghosts, and we saw some amazing costumes! This is one of our favorite days, and we hope you all enjoyed it. You’re welcome for the sugar spike and crash 🙃🎃

One of the most patriotic openings I have ever had the privilege of seeing. With a lineup of survivors and general manager Jennifer Boka presenting a donation check to St Vincent Foundation, the American flag drops from the ceiling. Truly amazing to see.

“I had a baby in April, but unfortunately she passed away on June 22nd. So my mother told me to come to Billings so that she could help me get through my loss. It’s bringing us closer together. But I’m doing o.k. I’m maintaining. I’m now just trying to find a job as a hair stylist at a salon. It’s what I do. I also picked-up some applications at this diner down the street. At this point, any job is better than nothing. This has been a huge adjustment from Atlanta, but I’m getting by.” #billingsmontana#downtownbillings#visitbillings#billingsmoment#montanalove#montanalife#bigskymontana#lastbestplace
Nowhere else we’d rather be than Downtown. 🙌🏼 _
The historic Billings Hardware Building on Montana Ave. was given a little temporary beautification in the form of a mural, while it is currently in development and planning for two floors of residential units with ground floor retail. 🛍
The mural concept was created by our Arts and Culture Coordinator. The under 40 contingent of the Billings Rotary, RotarAction, did all the painting with supplies and refreshments provided by the building owner. 🎨
This is our first time doing this type of public prayer. In the past, we have had some negative encounters from other people – not necessarily doing what we’re doing right now – but we’ve had harmful accusations and unwillingness from other people to hear our side of the story. We always try to approach other people with love, listening, and understanding, because I think people who are fighting you are just hurting. There is a lot of resistance whether via Facebook or face-to-face, but we always try to stay kind. The happiest moment is when you finally make a break-through with someone and find out how they’re hurting, even if you don’t change their mind right away, you can still help them and that can be a cool and really rewarding experience. Sometimes, their animosity towards us reveals their vulnerabilities and unveils something going on in their life or with their family that we can help them with and lift them up in our love and prayer. We also love the random acts of kindness from people driving by, honking, and showing support. Being gifted a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate in this weather can be an amazing thing.
Some more fantastic equine athletes were out last night from Powder River Rodeo. Some rank rides were made as well by some world class cowboys. Round 3 is packed with more talent. Here is Clay Elliott and Dustin Flundra making it look easy.

Today we celebrate International Credit Union Day...because no good story ever started in a board room on Wall Street.
Hard to believe it’s been nearly 70 years since 9 Montana refinery workers pooled their money in a cash box located in an empty box car. It's hard to imagine that they could have envisioned the impact they would have on the lives of so many people.
The first loan given was used to purchase a sewing machine. The rest, as they say, is history.
Thanks to their leap of faith so many years ago, we're here today. Altana Federal Credit Union – Laurel Federal Credit Union, at the time – helps people save for college or retirement, buy their first car, build their home, or fulfill their life long dream of starting a business.
What hasn’t changed over the course of our nearly 70 years is the cooperative spirit that was the cornerstone of that first meeting. And it's that same spirit of cooperation we celebrate with credit unions across the globe who decided that personal banking needed a good guy.
Cooperatively, we help people live better lives. That's an awesome responsibility that is not lost on us. We believe the growth and well-being of our communities will continue to remain bright as long as people continue to hold sacred this spirit of cooperation. Happy National Credit Union Day!
“The most difficult thing for me to do is stop riding freight trains, stay in one spot, and perfect my glass blowing trade. I rode the rails for 12 years straight, traveling the country. My grandmother was on a fixed income, so I sent money back to her. I went from Florida to Maine, to Kansas City, to Hot Springs, Arkansas, from Northern Cali to L.A., and back across. I did that every year eventually until she passed away. I actually just got back after about two months. I caught a train out of Laurel and rode that all the way to Oregon. I’ve tried living in Missoula, but I prefer it here. It’s where my shop is, and I enjoy my work. I’ve actually got a commission coming up next month for making memorial pendants with the ashes of human remains. It’s extremely meaningful.” #billingsmontana#downtownbillings#visitbillings#billingsmoment#Montana
“I moved here from California and have been living in Billings for about five or six years now. What I admire the most is the craziness, the wildness, the free spirited people of this town. However, my biggest fear is America becoming what it was back in the20’s, 30’s and the 40’s. I wonder if we could ever return to how we were at the beginning of time, and treat people how we’re supposed to be treated. I don’t know, was it any better back then?” #billingsmontana#downtownbillings#visitbillings#billingsmoment#montanabrewingco#hooligansbillings
