Two years ago, this little dude was just four years old and we went on a roadtrip in a 1971 VW camper van exploring a bit of California. Just him and me. It was a great trip I will never forget. Now tonight, we are leaving home without the girls for another adventure. It will be a very different one without the comfort of a nice van and the California infrastructure. This time we will go to Nepal. I have never been there so things will be equally adventurous for both of us. So very excited ...
Spend a gorgeous day at @montereybayaquarium today! The exhibits are just so beautifully made and Sierra was almost in perpetual awe of all the new animals she got to see 😍🐠🐢🐙🐟(and all the people, -we don't see that many all at once in our neck of the woods 😂)
Murder, She Wrote. Imagine you visit Mendocino and find the house ..later you check Wikipedia to see how old the main actress is, just to find out it's her birthday today!! Happy Birthday #angelalansbury !
Be a wine snob. Or look just like one.
Are you a wine connoisseur? I’m not. Which is why I was a bit intimidated about going on a wine tasting tour as part of a travel assignment. .
To help me “fake it until I make it” I enlisted the help of my “gentleman farmer” cousin who not only works in a winery, he has his own vineyard. .
In a mere 20 minutes, my worldly-wise cousin taught me everything I needed to know to help me at least look like I knew everything I was supposed to know ... about whites, reds, and everything in between.
I must have been a quick study as afterwards I passed two wine tasting “tests” foisted upon me by two separate winery hosts—including the membership-only Pangloss Cellar in Sonoma. Far from being “hoity-toity” and elitist, our host was super friendly and accessible—making my sister and I feel right at home; that is, if either of our “homes” had a wine cellar. 🍷🍷😉
The beginning of Castro street is sort of dull and empty but at some point, the sign of the Castro theater emerge on the horizon and suddenly the neighborhood changes, and there’s people in the streets going places, drinking, kissing 😘 , and there’s laughter and there are friends, bars and lights. Castro is also a queer 🏳️🌈 mecca since the 60s. If you’re interested, google some LGTB history in San Francisco, it’s really cool!
