Had a great time flying out to the west coast for this little race. Despite the ups and downs on the course, it was a piece of mind not having to worry about my bike after it was done. The guys at @tribiketransport made it so easy in taking care of my bike that gave me enough time to enjoy the city a bit more without having to worry about it. Will definitely be using them again #tritatstuesday#lookfastbefast#vendettaracingteam#trimafia#tribiketransport
Rain, thunder and lighting?? That won’t stop me from haring Monday’s #m2h3#hashrunwv trail. Thanks to all the brave souls who gutted it out in the pouring rain on the slick trails, the mud and the creeks for this evening’s run. Who doesn’t like to play in the mud? Gotta mix it up and have some fun to break the mundane routine. ~5k trail. #vendettaracingteam#trimafia#nuunbassador#nuunlife *no stuffed animals did anything they didn’t want to this evening*
By this pic you’d think I’d won the whole race. I kinda did... I DIDN’T DROWN! #winning Hardest swim I’ve ever done. Triathlon is such a humbling sport. Just when you think you’re ready to crush it, you get a curve ball. So many things have to fall into place to have a perfect race. As my coach @tridotjohn told me yesterday, “Every day is an opportunity to learn about racing and learn about yourself.” #wisdom#medalmonday#iamvelocity#neverstopever#trimafia#vendettaracingteam#mafiastrong
@usatriathlon Age Group Nationals Race Recap:
I’ve never been in a swim where I’ve actually contemplated taking a DNF. The swells were so high I couldn’t see the buoys. I stopped several times gagging from sea sickness. The only thing that got me to that swim exit was sheer determination and knowing my family was waiting on the beach. :38
Beautiful course with some small hills and turns...a few bumpy, crowded spots that I had to navigate through. I had to fight through my motion sickness from the swim for the majority of the bike. 1:16
Two loops of twists, turns, and a couple hills. I felt oddly strong on the run... perhaps because by the time I hit the run most of the nausea had worn off! 54:14
What an Epic day... one that I’ll never forget!
NEXT UP: Ironman Atlantic City 70.3 !!!
“Thankfully, persistence is a great substitute for talent.” ~Steve Martin~ let’s hope he’s right. Placid 70.3 is right around the corner. 10 miles done today, 6.5 of those thanks to the local gym/trampoline park (thank you @alexrosenstrach) to drop the kids off while I ran. My training for this race has been less than optimal, but hopefully my mental toughness will come through. #iamvelocity#trimafia#vendettaracingteam#triathlon#triathlete#neverstopever
