After a lot of waiting to finalise the numbers I am very pleased to say that we raised an incredible £6,686 for @lullabytrust in memory of Jessie 🌹 ...
Thank you to everyone who donated and supported me on this incredible journey, I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved and knowing that we were raising money for such an important cause kept me moving on that blistering day! 🏃🏻♀️
James & I will always support the work of The Lullaby Trust and our next challenge will be the @ridelondon 100 mile ride next year which we will complete together 🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♀️
So here’s to new adventures and continuing Jessica’s legacy 👼🏼
Not necessarily a #transformationtuesday but here’s me as Mr Tunnicliffe in Call the Midwife, and I remember feeling so self conscious of having to wear a vest as I knew I wasn’t in my greatest shape (it was winter), but although I’m far from where I want to be, I’m working towards it and implementing changes to both my diet and mindset. PS I had McDonald’s for dinner last night! 😂
🇫🇷🇫🇷 3.5 miles in the rain, in France with my wife. She’s an absolute legend, and helps me stay motivated as I definitely wasn’t up for running today in this weather.
We’re running ‘The Big Half’ together next March so it’s even more of an excuse to train together! My 🌍 🏃🏻♀️ 🏃🏻♂️
Some not so great horsey news for me today, I didn’t make the Senior Home International team, so here’s my pick me up... 2018 I turned 40.... 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾
🐴 my little cheap as chips pony Alf and I have qualified for and come 6th at the Petplan Area Festivals in our first full year at Novice level, qualifying for the finals... 🐴 we have achieved some of our highest ever scores and have had loads of fun jumping and hacking out... 🐴 I got my new horse Bravo in January and in just a few months out competing we have nearly completed a qualification for the Winter Regionals (1 point to go!), have qualified for the Petplan Area Festivals and are about to move up to Novice level only a few months into our first season and we were 5th overall at the Northern Region Show
🐴 plus we have very nearly touched the magic 70% that I thought was unachievable for little old me... 🐴we have hacked and jumped and he is teaching Ian to ride... 🐴Fayo has lots of new little friends who he loves coming to ride him now that Henry is too tall to do much with him... 🐴I am not from a horsey background and got my first horse in my 20’s, I have no ménage and I work full time... I do have some brilliant friends and family who support me!
🐴My good friend introduced me to the Academic Art of Riding which I am super excited about, and we have lots of fun riding saddle and bridleless! 🐴Oh and guess what... this happened today... £2621 raised for Phab Kids as while I was doing all this horsey stuff I ran a chuffing marathon!
So I didn’t make the team this time but I don’t really need to, my team at home is perfect ❤️❤️❤️ And there’s always next year! #dressage#bdnorthern#britishdressage#cantbringmedown#goals#optimism#planning#riding#horses#londonmarathon#vlm2018
I'm no handy Andy 🛠️ buts it finally up on the wall! The second most proudest moment so far in 30 years, obviously Mason wins hands down!
But this was the hardest but yet most fun day I've ever had with @misszoegoo @gillhoskin and Mo....and I hope we can do it all over again together one day!
Now for the next challenge training starts tomorrow for the @royalparkshalf in October so expect plenty of running posts but this next challenge is all for one man only my dad and @kidneycareuk #teamkidney#kidneycare#runnerschat#vlm2018#londonmarathon#halfmarathontraining
After #vlm2018 I had a #depression and #anxiety relapse, which surprised me to be honest. I only had physical symptoms this time, actually thought I was anaemic. But no, it’s my 🧠 again! So now I’m trying to get over the initial hurdle to start training again for #venicemarathon in 13 weeks time. Due to the palpitations and dizziness I’ve been avoiding cardio, until now. Boy was this a hard run. Only 2ks and I took a break every half a k. So can a marathon be done in 13 weeks in the state I’m in? Place your bets. I’m going to try, but I’ve also made myself a promise so I don’t get sick again. If I can’t do my 13 miler at the right point in my plan then my trip to Venice will be as a spectator. Still, pizza though, right? 😜
Regrann from @vlmusa - As their time in Bahir Dar comes to a close it will be hard to say goodbye. So many adventures, so many new friends made...a truly awesome month. 💜 #vlm2018#bahirdar#communitylove
I don’t have many running medals, but I am so so so proud of each of them! Especially the Sidcup Marafun medal circa 1990 😂 #medalmonday And yes it turns out that I only run in London! 2x London Marathon, 2x London 10k, 2x British 10k (one of them is my wife’s though) 1x Petts Wood 10k.
Tinsy bit crumpled via the post but this arrived on Friday from @meningitis_now . I’m so proud to have ran for a charity that is very close to my heart after contracting viral meningitis when I was 23. I’ve always wanted to run @londonmarathon and realised that dream and achievement in April this year whilst raising money for a fantastic charity. Thank you to Meningitis Now for the awesome support through marathon training and fundraising. Thank you to everyone that donated online, in person and/or attended events. I’ve made some lifelong friends along the way who too have experienced the blood, sweat and tears that goes into a marathon and training for one. Finally thank you to my family for supporting me and looking after the kids and especially to my hubby @markharris2178 that had to sit on the sidelines and watch me endure this crazy task I set myself. He cycled with me on long runs, waited in a cold car in the winter and hugged me when I couldn’t go on and ended up crying at the side of the road in Ramsey ❤️. I’m so pleased to have raised £2,611 for the important work Meningitis Now does and will not rest until meningitis no longer exists and no-one has to lose their life or have it changed because of this disease. My marathon chapter now closes but much love everyone and thank you ❤️❤️❤️😘 #charity#marathon#running#meningitisnow#londonmarathon#vlm2018#londonmarathon2018#training#spiritoflondon#fundraising#proud#family#challenge#goal#fitness#runnersofinstagram#friends#runningbuddies#hubby#thankyou#viralmeningitis#teamtangerine#teamtangerine2018
It was a hot hot hot one today.
Nice to run with @barbertronruns and @lilliesfitness for a bit, but I couldn’t cling on the the PB attempt for the whole race.
No we’re off to the Athletics World Cup. Zzz!
Super chuffed to get this 👍Don’t think I have had a certificate since I was about 8 when I blagged my gymnastics badge without being about to do a cartwheel...or a hand stand...
But this one is legit 🤗I ran 26.2 sticky miles of the hottest London Marathon ever and you lovely folks out there sponsored me 🤗.
Thank you ❤️.
You are awesome ❤️.
#medalmonday take me back! I want to do it all again. I crossed that finish line believing I could do anything I put my mind to. That medal doesn’t just represent finishing a race. That medal represents a journey of hard work, dedication, support, belief, encouragement & with good people around you you can achieve anything. That medal is for everyone who helped me along the way. #vlm#vlm2018#londonmarathon#medal#mymarathon
