8 INVOICING TIPS FOR SMEs
1.📝 #details - Especially so when your “product” is a service, be as detailed as possible. This way if additional work is required there isn’t a misunderstanding. For products, be sure to state measurements when applicable, unit price(s), and Excl and Incl GST.
2.🕙 Timeliness - Invoice your clients as soon as the job is done or goods are delivered. Back dating invoices are not cool.
3.👥 Multiple recipients - If possible, try to send multiple contacts the invoice, so that if one person overlooks it, you still have another pair of eyes that will see it.
4.💳 #payment methods - Provide multiple payment options and clearly state them on your invoice.
5.📆 Payment terms - This should be clear and obvious on your invoice. Better yet, provide the terms and due date too. A common question is, “So is does 14 days include today”? Take the guesswork out.
6.✂️ Pay-on-time #discounts - Offering 10% off the invoice if payment is made within 7 days entices customers to pay promptly.
7.💡 Reminders - Don’t be afraid to send a reminder even if invoices are 1 day overdue. Some people may feel like they will look desperate but in reality, the client will feel ashamed for not paying and ensure future invoices are paid on time.
8.📱Go mobile - Having a mobile invoicing app saves time and reflects professionalism too. It also allows you to keep on top of payments received and overdue invoices.

#Accomodation since 1452, and you get that sensation that you’re the only guest for the night at this #haunted inn.... 👻 Standing in the village of #ForestRow is #theChequersInnHotel , a #fifteenthcentury#postinginn built c. 1452. Smugglers used this #inn extensively, and it was this inn that was associated with a famous mail coach robbery which took place at the foot of Wall Hill on 27th June 1801. #JohnBeatson and his adopted son, #WilliamWhalleyBeatson , hid in a meadow at the bottom of Wall Hill by the entrance to an old Roman road. The mail coach made its call at #theChequersInn to collect the weekend’s mail, and then proceeded up Wall Hill, where it was waylaid by these two thieves just after midnight. The Beatsons took between £4,000-£5,000 of the approximately £14,000 total the mail coach was carrying that night. Captured and arrested some weeks later in Liverpool, they still had in their possession £3,500 from the robbery. Their trial took place on 29th March 1802, by Judge #BaronHotham , with the jury finding both men guilty and sentencing them to death by hanging. Gallows were erected on the spot where the robbery took place on 17th April 1802. In the presence of 3,000 people, Beatson and his adopted son were hung until dead. This was to be one of the last public hangings to take place in #England . #chequersinnhotel#eastsussex#sussex#uk#hotel#pub#restaurant#15thcentury#TheChequers#coachinginn#snuggery#snug
