Lord, the air smells good today,
straight from the mysteries
within the inner courts of God.
A grace like new clothes thrown
across the garden, free medecine for everybody.
The trees in their prayer, the birds in praise,
the first blue violets kneeling.
Whatever came from Being is caught up in being, drunkenly forgetting the way back.
Of course I had to hit up a place to eat in Tsukiji.
That place was Matakoiya (the come again house), the dish you see here is called Matakoidon which is a type of Don featuring the freshest possible tuna sashimi (different cuts) served on rice, topped with an egg served with a side of tea and miso soup, all for just 1000 yen. Yes it’s as good as it looks. Unfortunately, Matakoiya has been closed down on a count of the fact that the whole Tskukiji Fish market has recently been relocated, but I’m sure you could track this down there if you’re willing to look, I would recommend it because it’s a sashimi lovers dream!
