I finished my #tracktuesday speedwork yesterday on a treadmille and was pumped woth my splits for a 1600, 1200, 800, and 400 (repeats will come eventually) but i was even more excited when my coach @ahealthybalance told me I had workouts to do for #mcmtraining2018 . A running coach holds me accountable, comes up with a plan so I don't have to, and has the expertise that I don't, not to mention helps me get creative with workouts when I'm traveling.

Missed #tracktuesday yesterday so I hit the treadmill this morning to do the @heartbreakersrun speed run workout powered by #NRC for the week of 6/18 (swipe left). 3.7 miles this morning, I do however think I calculated my pace wrong (slower) as I look at my heart rate during the workout, I probably should have a heart rate average in the 80 percentile. My body will certainly let me know by the end of the day. #heartbreakersrun#heartbreakersrunning 💔🏃🏾♀️

I found this tune over on bandcamp and I just really enjoy the way he used the drums on the track. I'm a huge fan of Jazz drumming and this one really chops it up in a clever way.

Well the heat beat me today. Only made it through 5x400 and 1x300. Got significantly slower on every one and I’m just not mentally or physically tough enough to push through the 97 degree heat. When my focus for the summer is speed, these track workouts have been a bit discouraging lately. So I’ve decided no more evening track workouts. 5am is better than suffering through ridiculous temperatures especially when the heat of summer is just starting. Mornings are my jam. Plus I miss time with my family at night. I’m throwing this run in the trash and moving on.
#tracktuesday and a double run day. I feel so much better.
I almost didn't go to the track today. Then I remembered I promised to meet a new friend from the Thursday group so I laced up and went to the track.
I kept the pace fairly conservative compared to my last few speed work days, and we only did 6 of the suggested 8 reps.
It was a good workout. 👍🏃
W3D2 | Track Tuesday for most is a living nightmare. Track Tuesday for me is sweet nostalgia. Fun fact: I ran varsity track as a 7th grader. Speed was always in my blood, and I LIVED for the days we did 200s - because it was the one workout I could actually keep up with my 6 years elder All-American teammates😂🤷🏻♀️ Fast forward to now and I LOVE seeing 200s in training. And I may have been dumb and rode out the first two thinking I was still 14, but damn did it feel good to fly again😈 10 x 200✅
