When I watch this video, it really just brings me back to my experience in Miyazaki Prefecture (south Japan on the island of Kyushu). If ever a possibility, I definitely recommend checking out the rural parts of Japan. The disparity between metro areas and the countryside is pronounced but it will definitely expose you to the older traditions in Japanese culture that you will love and appreciate. The same culture and traditions that I believe the people of Japan still try and keep alive because it is the essence of who they are. 🇯🇵
This place was actually decided last minute, so it was sort of unplanned. So took the longest bus ride down to Takachiho. This is quite a famous place for you to do “Dayung Sampan”, but I preferred to walk, ha ha! The sights along the walking trail is very nice too.
Gorge-ous! Takachiho Gorge in Miyazaki, Japan is renowned for its beautiful scenery. One of the best ways to experience this area is by hiring a rowboat. Photographer: @takaphilography #ASMALLWORLD
