[NAGOYA, JAPAN] Misen 味仙
A Taiwanese-style chain restaurant that is one of the gems of (and only in) Nagoya. Funny enough, it is almost always crowded with locals, but Taiwanese customers here seem to find it pretty ordinary. It may not be authentic Taiwanese, but it’s worthy enough for a 2nd (or 3rd) visit.
Fun Fact! Nagoya is famous for anything Miso Katsu, Tebasaki (Japanese style chicken wings), Kishimen (flat noodles) and Taiwan ramen.
Personal rating: 3.5/5
1️⃣ Misen’s signature Taiwan ramen
2️⃣ Asari ramen (clam ramen)
3️⃣ Crab fried rice and egg-chive stir fry

Well,,,,,, actually I’m still considering if I should introduce this ramen to you guys people in overseas or not, because this ramen is too common for us Japanese, especially for people in Nagoya Japan.
Even though it’s called Taiwan ramen, many Nagoya people think of it as one of local food of Nagoya really, including me.
( I’ve lived in Yokohama for more than 10 years though.)
I’m also not sure the reason, but I heard that previously one local Taiwanese restaurant in Nagoya started offering this ramen, ant it’s become popular gradually.
Anyway, it actually looks very simple, but the taste is quite fascinating, in particular in the case of suffering from a hangover.... haha.
That’s true, I also used to eat this ramen when I had a terrible hangover.... While you stay in Japan, if you drink a lot of Japanese sake, it’s probably better to order this Taiwan ramen on the next morning... haha.
