Super Soldier Man of War
Writers: Mark Waid & Dave Gibbons
Pencils: Dave Gibbons
Inks: Jimmy Palmiotti
This is from the second series of Amalgam Comics. The Event co-published by both DC and Marvel Comics in 1996 and 1997. It perfectly encompassed the time in comics and was honestly just an absolute blast. I loved that they took the time build a history of this combined universe with fake editors notes and letters pages alluding to events and crisis’, it was fantastic.
Super Soldier combined Superman and Captain America and both issues were written by Mark Waid and Dave Gibbons men who have an incredible understanding of both characters. Gibbons pencilled and inked the first issue of Super Soldier. He only pencils Super Soldier Man of War. This specific page was inked by Jimmy Palmiotti. The combination of Gibbons pencils and Palmiotti ‘s inks creates a stunning page.
I am incredibly thrilled to add it to my collection. I have always loved Dave Gibbons art and to have a page of his sequentials is something I never thought I would own. Plus a cameo by Winston Churchill...honestly this page can’t get any better. Thank you to Joseph at Brit Comics Art for a seamless transaction. #OriginalComicArt#DaveGibbons#MarkWaid#JimmyPalmiotti#AmalgamComics#DCComics#MarvelComics @waidmark @davegibbons90 @jimmypalmiotti #SuperSoldier#Superman#CaptainAmerica
Today has been an interesting day.
I am a nanny, and this week, neither of my girls have day camp, which means we hang out from 7am til around 5pm.
I adore my girls; they are hilarious, playful, and so much fun.
One is twelve, and the other is nine.
Most of the time, they play together well, making up contests and games.
Today, however, they were at each other’s throats.
Even chores became a competition ending in screaming.
We sat down together after lunch and and had a conversation to try to turn the day around.
I told them that it is more important to be kind than to be right, and that if they couldn’t adjust their behavior, we would have to adjust our plans.
We can only do fun things when we listen, cooperate, and speak to each other with love.
We had a much better afternoon than morning.
Influencing little humans is hard.
Trying to teach them to be kind and nonjudgmental can feel impossible, especially if they are tired or hungry.
But it is the most rewarding thing in the world when they start to get heated and they stop and remember to breathe.
When they want to scream at each other, but instead speak to each other kindly.
I love that I have a job where hard days mean lots of teaching moments.
My heart is so full 💗♥️
As we go through life we have many paths, many choices and we are so concerned about making the “right” choice. Perhaps there is more than one right choice and several paths could lead to the right destination. No two journeys are the same. Perhaps if we let go of the idea of “right” we could enjoy the path we are on with all its twists and turns.
Day 7 of #MyBody_MyYoga is a theme that’s relatively new to me: Body Intelligence. I was a trained dancer for 15 years, 10 of which were competitive. Dance teaches you to push yourself no matter what, push through the tears, ignore the pain and finish the routine. Yoga, on the other hand, gently reminds me to slow down. Some days my body flows though an hour or two of practice like nothing, but others I’m sore or emotionally drained, so I have to modify it. And that’s ok. That’s what I’ve come to love about yoga. My practice is MINE, what feels best for me and my body on any particular day.🤗💕
(This was my first attempt at #SuperSoldier and is this ever harder than it looks!! Swipe for probably the most ridiculous behind-the-pic pics of mine I’ve seen.😂)
Thank you beautiful hosts & sponsor!

It’s DAY 7 of #mybody_myyoga with the theme body intelligence and super soldier pose.
I tried two versions of super soldier - with and without the bind - felt great on the hip flexor! With practice, I’ve become more attune to what feels good and doesn’t feel good, and stop ignoring aches and pains in my body, by far one of the value added benefits of yoga that can be practices #offthemat . It’s so nice to be able to understand my body better, and know when to challenge myself and when to modify/take it down a notch!
And Happy Father’s Day to Papa Leung today! Thank you for inspiring in me a love of the outdoors and travel!

Day 7 of #mybody_myyoga#supersoldier
I struggle with knowing my body. It’s mostly because I’m scared. I’m scared to find a lump in my breast so I never do the self exam. I’m scared I have cancer so I never go to the doctor when something’s not right. I’m a big scaredy cat. I don’t know when to rest my body either. I feel so guilty if I don’t move everyday yet most days I just want to stay in bed. Am I strange?
