I know that most people think my life revolves around fitness, which of course why not. I show you everyday. I talk about it all the time. I know a lot about it!

But that isn't necessarily true. I do love fitness. I do love the way I feel when I eat healthy. I do workout every week 4-6 days a week, and they are usually 30-45 minutes long. And I make sure I stay semi-active the rest of the day just to keep my body moving a lot. But that just means its apart of my life, it is what makes me capable of having the life I want...its not my entire life.

My life is my family. My life includes all the hobbies that I love to do, which is actually refinishing furniture, making items for my household, and yes I love to look for awesome deals online all of the time! Thats me in a nutshell

Health & fitness is what I am best at. Staying consistent and determined to be happy is what I have learned and stuck with along the way. So yes this one of my passions that I KNOW will help people, and I am determined to share my knowledge, motivation, and how I have stayed consistent along the way.

It's a lifestyle change that I am most proud of because it has changed all of our lives for the better...a small portion of our day that made an enormous difference in our lives 🧡

I’m 6.5 weeks into this mini cut, and I’ve never felt or looked better. I’m two weeks out from our 10 year anniversary trip to Rivera Maya, and I couldn’t be more excited. This cut has been awesome for me! I truly think I just needed SOMETHING on the calendar to get motivated enough for me to dial in the diet. My Saturday (built in) binges were sabotaging everything I was doing the 6 other days of the week. 😳 .

I think I had just gotten a little too easy on myself when it came to my “free day” on Saturdays. Like it was an excuse to binge because I “could.” What’s crazy is that simply cutting that “free for all” day out of my life for this cut is the number 1 thing that’s made all of the difference to see physical changes in my body. .

That being said, I’m super excited to see how things go AFTER this mini cut when I give myself a tracked limit style of “free day.” Truly, so many times it’s just a crunching numbers game. I definitely want to have my cake and eat it too! But gone are the days when I go bananas on food without blinking. Track that iiisshhhh! 😘

I’m a busy mom who believes Life shouldn’t  be spent busy.  Contradicting right? 
I find myself being to much of a “do-er” and struggle with spending enough time in the moment. My mind is always racing of what I should do after I’m done with my present task and before I know it, I become overwhelmed with all of the tasks that I have placed on myself. The thing is, I don’t think we were made to be able to do it all. These days, there’s a stigma hovering over us moms that there are always more that we could be doing. Mom tasks, building businesses, working, just to name a few; we hold ourselves so accountable that we lose track of life. So anyways, today’s my rest day and I am truly going to rest, spend time with my boy, and slow myself down. I just made myself a cup of tea, and I encourage you to as well.

Throwing it back to our recent vacation when the hotel gym just wasn’t inspiring me at all. I came back to our room while hubs went to the gym and our daughter was still sleeping. And this great little Booty & More workout was born!! It’s effective, quiet (no jumping to disturb your downstairs neighbors), and you can do it all on the bed!!! Win win win for home or hotel! 🔥🙌🏼😁

1️⃣ 20 Pillow pass hollow hold. Focus on keeping lower back pressed into the bed!
2️⃣ 10 Step-down from bed. Focus on slow controlled descent, and try not to push up from the floor. Use those glutes!!!
3️⃣ 10-12 Commando push-ups.
4️⃣ 12-15 Single leg glute bridge. Hold pillow between knees for added inner thigh activation.

TBM is determined to change the way women approach fitness, daily movement, and breath while gaining an in-depth understanding as to how powerful each of these can be, if only we take the time to implement each correctly.

With the desire to extend our brick + mortar studio, we launched Studio Bloom. A new concept NOT based on a dedicated program but built on the vision of a virtual studio, one that you can tune into 24/7 and choose the workout, foundational check in, Diastasis recovery video, etc that will feed you and your goals on that given day. We implemented the same class formats as our brick + mortar but with an even deeper educational infrastructure.

Our foundational techniques are the building blocks of our method and while you can still do any of our classes without them, we never recommend  working out half ass ;) The more you can understand and implement the foundations, the more challenging the classes become. Of course staying in the exercises we guide you through is half the battle, esp with all the pulses + holds we add but when you bring along our foundations, you open the door to one killer, uber efficient workout. A new concept NOT based on a dedicated program but built on the vision of a virtual studio, one that you can tune into 24/7 and choose the workout, foundational check in, Diastasis recovery video, etc that will feed you and your goals on that given day. 3. Putting my phone in a designated spot while the kids are awake. Out of sight out of mind. ⠀
4. Keeping a written list of things to do on my phone or computer after the kids go down. Sometimes I go to look something up quickly and then spiral down a worm hole.⠀
5. Scheduling time for momma! (Daily workouts, monthly massages, weekly showers (jkjkjkjkjkjk #nobutreally 😂))⠀

Sitting, waiting, wishing for our lives to be turned upside down. For everything we know to change.
It’s a funny thing, the place between trusting in the divine timing of life, of knowing that baby will come when they are ready and the constant eager anticipation. Add to that the constant question of ‘our we ready?!’ No. But i guess you can never be really ready. 
Thankfully I’m back to feeling good, my body feels strong (despite being exhausted after walking 1/4 of a mile 😂) and my mind is much more clear than it was last week. I’m as ready as can be. But also a little more content with the wait. See you when we see you, little one 💙

Trying to maintain some sort of routine is helping distract me from thinking about my mom.  It still took about 90 minutes to finish a 40 minute workout as I kept spacing out. But it’s done and I’m better for it. .

This week I’ve been working hard to implement @tonyrobbins 90-second rule. Moving myself from a suffering state to a BEAUTIFUL STATE through practicing gratitude and appreciation. Just like we have to shower regularly to remain clean, so to must we practice gratitude to remain in a beautiful state. .

Gratitude feels like the flavor of the week which is why I’ve always been skeptical to truly implement the practice. But I must say, giving myself 90-seconds to nip anxiety, sadness, frustration, jealousy, self-doubt etc. in the bud by turning to appreciation, has completely changed the dynamic of my week. .

Looking back, I am really glad that I had the childhood I did. It shaped who I am. I love that I grew up climbing trees, swimming in creeks, walking barefoot, making my own rules about the world with dirt under my nails.
But it was also scary, anxiety ridden, lacking stability, and impoverished. I lived in fear about who was gonna get in a fight next, how I would come up with $9 to go on the class field trip, or what ridiculous house chore I’d be stuck with. (A house of 8 kids makes for a lot of dishes and laundry)...

It’s important to us to give our daughter a safe childhood where she feels nothing but love and stability.
But I can’t help but think... I want her to feel the drive to work hard as well. I want her to dream big and to be inspired by the possibilities of the life she can create for herself. I want her to “build character”, as they say a life against the odds will do..

So how can I find the balance, as her mother, that really just wants to give her the world 🌎 and the childhood I longed for?

I was outside with dirty feet, scraped up knees, climbing trees, wandering along creek beds, or playing GI Joes with the boys. Not much changed during high school & college, although I wore shoes more often, I was equally as athletic, bruised & mostly friends with boys. However, after being welcomed into the tribe of motherhood, I found myself longing for friendship & connection with other active, adventurous, daring, driven, creative, outspoken, insightful women. It may have taken a few years to find them (note : Aubrey & I are still working on organizing them!) but, damn it feels good to have found my people. Fitness is not about competing with others, it’s about competing with yourself.  Today’s workout was all shoulders and HIIT.  I have a weak upper body.  I get awful knots in my traps and neck pain so I have to watch my form carefully.  Today I was lifting with 9 and 6 lbs to start off with.  I knew I could handle a little extra so I upped my weights to 12 and 8 lbs for the second set.  It wasn’t the 20+ lbs the people in the video were using but it was as much as MY body could handle. ⠀

We all have different lifestyles, different DNA, and different bodies so expecting to “get abs like ____” or lose weight at the same pace as someone else is unrealistic.  Focus on YOU!  Continually strive to do better, push harder, and out-do your own efforts.  You may not ever get your dream body but you can continually get stronger and feel better.  And in IMO that is the real win! 👉 Like if you agree!

A huge number of molecules are secreted at the feto–maternal interface by both the mother and the embryo/fetus and act on both sides. Thus, the mother and the embryo interact via specific tissues in a reciprocal exchange of molecules that act as communication signals. 
Hold up- whaaaaat? Intricate and immediate communication between maternal and fetal tissue. If this doesn’t blow your mind I don’t know what would. 
The maternal side of the placenta embeds into the uterine wall and releases after birth. This organ averages 9 inch in length, 1 inch in thickness, and typically weighs  just over 1 lb. It is substantial and leaves a significant wound in the endometrium after it is birthed from the mothers body. *******If women walked around with a wound this size on the OUTSIDE there would be no debate re: maternity leave. There would be no dismissal of the immediate post partum period as inconsequential. There would be no rushing our new mothers back to work. ****When you see a new mama making her way through her day, hold doors for her. Offer her your seat. Help her carry the bags, the stroller, the load. Tell her how amazing and strong she is. Recognize her grace and deep commitment - give her major props. This is the size of the wound inside of her body that is working to heal- in a culture that demands she get back to her busy life (in addition to the full time, physically and emotionally taxing, NEVER ENDING job of caring for a brand new human), that offers little space for nurturing herself, little support or empathy for her exhausted, depleted body and heightened emotional state. When your little one joins in on your team call and doesn’t go to sleep until after 10 pm (party animal😒) and then decides she’s going to get up before 6 am....let’s see how today goes! She was pretty content this morning, she had breakfast, played with toys and had a diaper change all during my 29 minute workout (that probably took about 50 minutes). But that’s the way it goes. •
Yesterday while listening to a podcast, I heard something that was a much needed reminder for me from Brian Tracy (if you haven’t read any of his books or listened to him, he’s AMAZING!). He was talking about years ago when he met a young woman who in his words “was really messed up” and credited her mom not paying attention to her when she was reading the paper when she was younger....she would ask her to leave her alone so she could read. He noted what a profound impact that had on him and because of that encounter, he always stopped what he was doing to pay attention to his kids, stating no newspaper was more important than his kids. How many of us have been guilty of this?! Ouch! I know I sure have, but it’s SO incredibly true. When you think about what’s most important in your life.....are your actions reflecting those priorities? This was definitely a wake up call and a good reminder for me!! I may have to hit pause all throughout my workout, but they are a huge reason why I’m doing these workouts, why I keep going day after day....so reminding myself of that why and what’s MOST important makes all those extra pauses worth it.😊

She was pretty content this morning, she had breakfast, played with toys and had a diaper change all during my 29 minute workout (that probably took about 50 minutes). But that’s the way it goes. • Yesterday while listening to a podcast, I heard something that was a much needed reminder for me from Brian Tracy (if you haven’t read any of his books or listened to him, he’s AMAZING!). He was talking about years ago when he met a young woman who in his words “was really messed up” and credited her mom not paying attention to her when she was reading the paper when she was younger....she would ask her to leave her alone so she could read. He noted what a profound impact that had on him and because of that encounter, he always stopped what he was doing to pay attention to his kids, stating no newspaper was more important than his kids. How many of us have been guilty of this?! Ouch! I know I sure have, but it’s SO incredibly true. When you think about what’s most important in your life.....are your actions reflecting those priorities? This was definitely a wake up call and a good reminder for me!! I may have to hit pause all throughout my workout, but they are a huge reason why I’m doing these workouts, why I keep going day after day....so reminding myself of that why and what’s MOST important makes all those extra pauses worth it.😊

Thursday’s got me like 💪😎👊 ... Roughly 6 months apart, what a transformation. ... 6 months ago I was going to the gym and working out for 1.5 hours minimum to achieve very little results. I knew what machines worked what muscles, but I wasn’t great at pushing myself to my limits. Which means I wasn’t exhausting my muscle groups, I was just exhausting my mind and using up my precious time. I couldn’t afford a trainer; I could barely afford the gym membership, so I just did my best training myself. ... Fast forward to July. I decided to start a program where I would only work out 4 days a week, get a planned cheat meal, and get TONS of support. Oh yeah, and a trainer! I also got to work out from my house, or wherever life took me for 30-40 minutes. All of this amazing goodness for less than half the cost of my monthly gym membership!!! 😳😲😃 can you say game changer?! ... For 5 weeks I have been working on my body while also working on my mindset and nutritional habits and the benefits have far exceeded my initial goals. I have muscles in places I didn’t think I could have. I have a new found confidence beginning to emerge. I FEEL the best I have felt in years. All of this because someone reached out to me and said, “girl, I believe in you! You CAN and WILL succeed!” ... So, I’m here to tell YOU 👈 that YOU GOT THIS! 👊 Do you need that push? Someone to be your cheerleader? You should never fight your battle alone. I promise you I have been there, done that and got the dang T shirt! While I was sweating, he climbed on top of the fridge to retrieve a cute “book bag” from my moms group summer swap. [We each selected a book and filled a bag with accompanying activities for it. This one is for “The Watermelon Seed”. ]

Shoulder intervals. >>>2 shoulder exercises followed by 30 seconds of HIIT. Finish off with core work. Everything I need for great results in half an hour. Cuz mama ain’t got more time than that!

I know it’s not #flexfriday BUT I absolutely love the flexibility of this program... Nevaeh and I are leaving today for an out of town wedding - so I shifted my 3 active recovery/rest days around 🙌🏼 after 4 straight days my body is feeling it and so ready for fun long weekend!!!

All good though! No complaints or guilt here knowing I’ve earned my recovery days... I’ll probably sneak in a run at least once this weekend ... because when you start to see results you become pretty addicted and you want to keep feeling this endorphin high 🤣 happy Thursday everyone!! .

Now don’t get it twisted, I still prefer a killer cardio or hiit workout over lifting 😜 But I do know that I’ve gotten stronger and have seen great results with adding weights into my workout routine! 💪🏼 The best thing about my online gym is that I get to CHOOSE what types of workouts I want to do!! 🙌🏼 I literally have hundreds of options and I NEVER get bored! 👊🏼 What’s even better than that, is that I have an incredible group for support to lean into and keep me pushing toward my goals!! 👯‍♀️ If you need to switch up your routine, or you’re ready to try something new ✨ Drop a ❤️ and we can chat about your goals!

Healthy is not always about eating greens. Healthy isn’t stepping on the scale every day. What I’ve learned is being healthy involves your mind as much as it involves your body. Focusing on becoming strong AF on the inside is just as important if not more than your outside. People say you look your best when you FEEL your best and they are SO incredibly right!!! I can’t believe how this 8 week program is making me FEEL!!! ❤️💪🏼 Only three more weeks to go! Of course I notice changes in the outside but I feel on top of the world and want to share this feeling! So I’m getting a group of girls together to do the next round with me! Every girl deserves this! Who wants in on my fit squad?! 🙌🏼💕 #gritandgrace @joelfreemanfitness
