I don’t look at it as another year older but rather another year stronger and happier. I have so much gratitude for the people who came into my life this year, for the ones that left and for the ones that stayed. I see goodness in all of the moments, memories & people the universe has placed in my path. This was the year I lost my mother, my friend but it was also the year that our family welcomed sweet baby Angelo into our lives and hearts. My son Justin is following his dreams and living his best life possible in Grenada. Julian continues to be an incredible father...amazing me with his capacity to balance work and family beautifully. The plan for today was 25 reps, broken up into Ladders, as part of my #PlanStrong Comp Month.
Less than 2 weeks until I finally get to press the 36kg KB at the @strongfirst SFG2 in Seattle @kettlebility
Each week in this month is an easier and easier warm up to the big day.
Right shoulder still feels rough/weakened by a #JiuJitsu injury but getting better every day💪

And I thought to myself “what is going on?” Like for real.... who’s deadlift is this?! My deadlift is out of control! Honestly, this was the 4th and final set of 6 @ 495 and I legit had 10+ in the tank! Has to be the Stone Cold shirt right?! I wish I would have recorded the 3rd set, it was by far the best set of the day and it moved like RPE 5...... 600+ is an absolute LOCK in 8 weeks! Ya boi finna ball out 😈

It’s almost Thanksgiving and this year, I have so many things to be thankful for. I’m reminded daily of how blessed I am.
All of my dreams are coming true and I’m living the life I’ve always dreamed of. I have the big man upstairs to thank for that. 🙌🏼

First rep I’ve failed all prep. Just got wayyyyyyyyy to hyped/ excited on another level today lol. Lost my shit on this rep and was all over the place head down, not bracing, bar rolling, lats not engaged, didn’t push into the floor. I actually tried again lol after thus because I knew how technically garbage this attempt was, but my back was fried as it slightly rounded and I’m not risking any injuries this close to the meet. .
I have a laundry list of excuses as to why I “should’ve “ gotten this, but honestly it’s whatever, it’s one rep and I’ve hit way more .
Failure provides two paths: get up, learn from your errors, and try again. Or stay down and complain. I refuse to back down. Next week I will have this and a little more even. 💯👊🏽
Back lever coming along really nicely even without much focused training! Just goes to show how effective compound movements are in calisthenics in developing multiple muscle groups! Also helps I lost some weight hahaha 💪
