After a couple of days off the bikes at beautiful Annecy we headed to La Thuile for some the best natural, steep and technical trails! Apparently 2 days post-Mega recovery wasn’t enough to prepare me for them and had one of my most scenic crashes yet 😂 Now in Torino after some amazing Italian hospitality, city bike riding and near-death by eating! Onto a new riding destination later today, but we still haven’t decided where... #annecy#lathuile#steep#icantbrakeanymore#crashlanding#girlsthatride#mtb#telluswheretogo
I remember it all, but it went by like a blur. When the injuries and bruises heal, every new scar will be a little sweet reminder of the 140+ miles we rode and 30,000ish feet we climbed this week during the @transbcenduro. I am so grateful for the opportunity to challenge myself in this race. I feel lucky to have done it with Erik by my side as we pushed through each pedal stroke (even when one of his pedals broke and there was only a peg left!). The downhills were so rewarding- forearm burning, smile building, and skill enhancing. I met so many rad people, danced my @$$ off, hooted and hollered when I conquered the most challenging trail sections I’ve ever ridden, and gave as many high fives and hugs as possible. Thank you to Megan, the crew and the volunteers. You all rock! Thank you to the racers and medics who stopped along the trail to make sure everything was ok when I crashed. Thank you to the trail builders and everyone in each of the cities we visited. And now, I look on to Trans NZ! 🤞I am crying tears of bliss and satisfaction right now. .
