Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, and an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of animals. A follower of the diet or the philosophy is known as a vegan.
Veganism is an essential topic for all leftist alike to consider in discussing, due to the circumstances of the world’s position on the limitation of resources, climate change and the over population of humanity. Veganism would be an essential element when we eventually achieve communism.
Climate change – Climate change without a doubt is the biggest threat that humanity will be facing in the next 10 – 100 years of its existence. The staggering rate of carbon emissions is ghastly being increased per year, due to capitalism profit motive not taking in account its pre-curses it will follow for the environment. A pure example would be the Great Barrier in Australia, where around 25-50% of the entire reef has been or could be bleach in the next 10-20 years. Another quick example is the increase of our temperate being going up by 6 degrees by 2100, something humans will not be able to sustain. The role that veganism could play in reducing climate is greatly appreciated. According to scientific data, around 15-20% of the world’s entire carbon emissions is caused by animals producing greenhouse gases. To put that in perspective, all the cars, trains, planes or transportation as a whole only produce 3-5% of the world’s carbon emissions. Veganism can reduce carbon emissions though. For example, a person who follows a vegan diet produces 50% less CO2, and uses 1/11th oil, 1/13th water and 1/18th land compared to a meat eater. This is a staggering change and shows it efficiency, compared to animal products. A huge difference can be made, simply by eating less animal products and replacing them with plants. -> Continue to comments
