Homes scenes from the high Sierra’s of California last month. If you don’t know me, well, this little vintage slide-in truck camper has been my main personal space and often my only home for the past year and a half- before that it was a truck with no camper and only a shell with a bed- with bouts of house sits or living in my old Cobb house back in North Carolina for a spell or a nice barn on my family’s land in rural Virginia, before that it was with a partner in a slide in pop up camper going all over the place, and before that it was a Honda CR-V, and before that often on foot. Somehow in there I also grew hundreds of cabbages and hundred of pounds of holy basil varieties. Somewhere in there I harvested wild rice that lasted a year, somewhere in there I ate enough Juneberries for a stomach ache and camped at high elevation lakes. Somewhere in there I still managed to can some green beans, carve some spoons, make some new bark tan leather. And so many other things. And here I am now, and in some ways all the years of these things I have been doing have ripped me apart and in other ways it has completely made me and I am eternally grateful and humbled by the insane privilege it is to live a wild and rugged life in between.
Never dreamed I’d post a photo of my kitchen, but here goes.. it is TINY, guys. Family of six here, in an old farmhouse.. and the kitchen’s the size of a postage stamp. BUT so many meals have been made here for everything from Christmas dinner to birthday breakfasts and just all those ordinary days too. Somehow we make it work. Someday I’d love to paint these cabinets and do something with the green and gold swirl countertop, but for now, this is it. 🙂
Organising SMALL Kitchens———————————————————
The number 1 issue with small kitchens is space. Which is why you need to make sure each cupboard is well organised. ———————————————————
It really is vital that only the same products sit in one cupboard to make them neater and easier to maintain and manage.—————————————————————————————-
