As some of you may know, I am Hitchin born (technically Stevenage) and bred. Having lived in this town for the 27, nearly 28 years of my life there have been multiple points in time that I am UBER proud to be a part of this community. Tonight was one of them.

Had the privilege of meeting @alemercante when he guest bartended at @academiaaustin and knew that if I was ever in Venice I'd need to visit him at @ilmercantevenezia. Stopped in tonight and grabbed a drink with @atxcocktails to get him over the Berlin cocktail slump. This is the "Last Supply" cocktail made with Demerara rum, aged agricole rum, plantain wine, Pedro Ximenez Sherry, cherry liquer, honey, and angostura bitters served in a cognac snifter and topped with dried banana pieces. This drink was so beautifully balanced and superbly flavored which is exactly what I experienced when Alessandro was in Austin!

Lustau winery and Aponiente joined again to create the third edition of YODO, a big and forthcoming Fino selected to celebrate the 3rd Michelin star and dedicated to our crew. A bottle of @the_macallan at a sherry bodga in Jerez, Spain. The Macallan often uses sherry barrels to age its spirit, drawing out the leathery, fruity notes of the fortified wine left in the wood.
