It’s almost here! I Gelosi opens this next weekend, get your tickets now! It’s an amazing show we’ve got for you based on the true story of I Gelosi, a group of Commedia Dell’Arte actors in Renaissance Italy. And it’s directed by the fantastic Raphael Parry of Shakespeare Dallas. Hope to see you there!
Last night at Shakespeare In the Park put on by @shakespearedallas. We got rained out the first time but Alex and I read Othello together all last month to prepare for this, so we pushed on and made the drive out from Abilene for a second time, and it was so worth it! The way Jamal Sterling played Othello was arresting and compelling and much more sympathetic than we were able to read him on our own. We were still discussing it over breakfast this morning and enjoyed contrasting this Othello with Arthur in The Once and Future King and Camelot, which we read and watched respectively this month also. [Thought some people might be getting tired of the flower pictures, so here's a change. If you are getting tired of the flower pictures, don't worry: I'm working on a brand-new non-flower project that's a dream and it's gonna be big and it involves YOU. I'll make an announcement about it next week. 😃] #shakespeareinthepark#shakespearedallas#othello#shakespeare#theonceandfutureking#thwhite#camelot#marriedadventures#SDOthello2018
Oh my oh MY! Shakespeare in the Park’s Othello last night was gripping. On our way over, we explained to @jackallred1 that it was one of the tragedies, meaning that at the end everyone winds up dead in a pile. It did not disappoint. Dead on a bed in a pile. On the fanciest sheets. Our picnic dinner was as elegant as poor Desdemona’s wedding linens. #shakespearedallas2018#shakespearedallas#shakespeareinthepark#benacfamily#othello
