I cant emphasize enough how important it is to put yourself first. Take the time out of your hectic schedule and get your regular check ups. You may miss a couple of hours of work or whatever the case may be. But its better to be safe than sorry. 😘
A strong core improves fitness performance, develops good posture, and reduces lower back pain. Below are 4 great exercises that, coupled with a good nutrition plan, will build not just ripped abs but a powerful physique.
1. Ab wheel rollouts
The ab wheel is a small and inexpensive device that works the abs much better than the traditional crunch. Not recommended for anyone with back issues! A good alternative if that’s your case are power wheel crunches. Unlike an ab wheel, a power wheel is attached to your feet. You move your legs instead of your arms. After just a few ab wheel rollouts you’ll realize how difficult this exercise really is and how hard it also works your lats and arms.
2. Hanging leg raises
The hanging knee raise is a classic ab exercise that will build rock hard abs when performed correctly. You can do them with your legs straight or add weight to increase the difficulty.
3. The squat
I’m sure that the squat didn’t come to your mind when I mentioned ab exercises but squats are probably one of the best exercises for developing your core and upper body, in addition to the lower body. Whether your goal is gaining muscle mass, losing body fat, building a strong body or improving athletic performance, the basic squat will help you reach your goal faster.
Just like the squat, the deadlift is a compound exercise that works your abs as well as your posterior chain. It works almost every muscle in your body, especially your lower body, back, and core. Almost all other muscles in the body are involved in stabilization.
Today is TGIF 💃 and this is our date night! Usually we go with friends 👫 for M&M, that stands for Mexican and Margaritas 🌮🍹. .
The last few days I haven’t felt good 😷 so tonight we are staying in and making our own Mexican food 🌮🌶.

It's not always wise to grind away in the gym with no rest 💁♀️ Over training is not only mentally exhausting but it has a detrimental effect on progression, effectiveness and increases the susceptability of injuries.
Self care is vital in both physical and mental wellbeing. 💪rest, sleep, binge watch those you tube channels. 💪 complete that mindfulness activity, read that book. 💪go to the hairdressers, have that massage.
Taking time out helps protect your mental and physical wellbeing and allows time for your body to repair the muscle fibres broken down whilst training.

#TGIF 🙌🏻 and I made it through this week. I probably slept an average of 2-3 hours a night and clenched my jaw 24/7 which usually would have given me debilitating headaches each morning. Luckily I had seen @ritalinknermd last week without knowing I’d be in for a week from hell this week 🤦🏻♀️. She knows what to do in a way that makes you feel refreshed and also looks natural. We are almost in the midpoint that Venus passes through the heart of the sun. This Venus retrograde in Scorpio has been heavy and deep for me (as for most sensitive people too). Ask yourself: what are the lessons? What lesson keeps repeating? What you want and need the most? How can you be free? For the last several years, I have been practicing a sleep meditation routine I pieced together and it has been life-changing. It used to sometimes take hours to fall asleep, now it takes me like 5 minutes. It works best when I’m diligent about doing it almost every time I try to fall asleep. • The goal is to see an image and not think any words. • I really don’t try to force myself to sleep when I’m not tired and ready for sleep. If this doesn’t work in about 10 minutes, I get up and do something before trying again. • I lay down in the same position every night (on side, pillow between knees). • Turn on white noise rain sounds at same volume level every night (Sleep Pillow - free iPhone app). If I’m camping or at a music festival, I use an eye mask and ear plugs. (Tip: Bucky brand eye masks don’t touch your eyelashes.)
• Close eyes. Relax muscles in face and body. • Drown out word-based thoughts by thinking “rrraaaaiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnn raaaiiinnnn” over and over, slowly. Focus on white noise. • Once thoughts have mellowed, try to see an image. My go-to is a mountain top lake. I inevitably catch myself thinking words at this point (“trees, snow-capped mountains,” etc.). • Once you catch yourself thinking words, switch back to droning “rrraaaaiiiiinnnn” again. • Try to see the image again once thoughts have quieted. Usually by the time I’m trying to see the image a second time, I fall asleep. 🛌😴💤 Artwork by @find.it.inside

Walked into my therapist's office the other night, panicking because I had just eaten dinner and felt full.
I didn't want to sit there and feel full, with my eating disorder and anxiety loudly reminding me of all the reasons I despise that sensation.
So that's exactly what I did. Sat on my therapist's couch, sat with the discomfort. Worked through it with EMDR. Had an anxiety attack. Moved past it.
I have spent most of my life relying on my eating disorder and alcohol to numb the feelings I didn't want to feel and the thoughts I didn't want to have.
I believed numbing all that shit and running from it would make it go away. It definitely did not.
Recovery has taught me that I have to sit in the dark, sit with the painful feelings and discomfort if I wanna feel better. The only way out is through.
And once I'm through those painful feelings, I'm always stronger and more at peace than I ever was before. 💜
