🦐 SENS FITNESS FISH STEW 🦐
There’s nothing quite like a warm bowl of soup or stew during the winter months. It’s warms the body, heart, and soul! Oftentimes we’re turned off the calorie-dense stews filled with meat and potatoes. Those are great, so don’t be afraid.
However, if you’re looking for something that’s fewer calories we’ve got a special fish stew that’s sure to hit all the right notes from taste to macros to keep you moving closer toward your goals.
What you need:
✅1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
✅1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
✅3 anchovy fillets
✅6 cloves garlic, crushed
✅2 ribs celery, chopped
✅1 medium onion, chopped
✅1 cup dry white wine
✅1 3/4 cups chicken stock
✅1 can chunky-style crushed tomatoes
✅A handful of chopped parsley
✅1 1/2 pounds cod fillets, cut into chunks
✅Salt and pepper
✅8 large shrimp
✅8 sea scallops
✅16-20 mussels, scrubbed
✅A loaf of fresh, crusty bread, for mopping
How to do it:
1️⃣ Combine olive oil, anchovies, crushed red pepper in pot over medium heat
2️⃣ Add chopped celery and onion to pot, stir
3️⃣ Once veggies are soft add wine, stir
4️⃣ Add in chicken stock, tomatoes, parsley, stir
5️⃣ Season fish chunks with salt and pepper, add to pot and simmer for 5 minutes
6️⃣ Add shrimp, scallops, and mussels, cover pot and cook for 10 minutes
7️⃣ Give pot a shake every few minutes. Don’t stir as that will break up the fish chunks
8️⃣ After 10 minutes lift lid and throw out any mussels that didn’t open
9️⃣ Serve into bowls

Can we all just take a moment to observe how bloody quick my banana has turned brown!! The third pic was this morning after I had plucked him from his slumber in my fruit bowl! Good job it was still nice inside his brown coat! #sw#slimmingworld#swsnacks#fooddiary#veryripefruit
Looks like absolute 💩 but honestly tastes amazing. Bean soup is the easiest to make out of all of the soups.
Beans (all the beans. I used black beans and couple of tins of mixed beans)
A LOT of garlic
Coriander (ground or fresh)
And I swirl mine with chilli powder simply because I love the heat.
Literally dice the carrots, celery and onions and shove it in the pan with some fry light and let them sweat it out for a bit. Then add the beans and all of the other ingredients and stock. Let it simmer for a mo and then you can have as is or if you’re like me just blitz it.
Lush for a cold day.
Best thing about soups is that you can easily make syn free food and it’s filling af. Also always super simple because the amount of ingredients don’t make much of a difference. I’ll list exactly how much I used below if you fancy:
4 celery sticks
1 large white onion
2 tins black beans
2 tins mixed beans
6 cloves of garlic, minced
4tspn of ground cumin
1/2 tspn ground coriander
2 pints veg stock
1tspn hot Chilli powder
Happy souping 🍵
