One of the reasons I barely listen to the radio is because they have a 10 song #playlist and typically only play popular music not good music 🎶 necessarily. There’s so much #goodmusic out here and we’re stuck listening to the same songs over and over and over. After I’m done switching back and forth from morning show to morning show I’m done😂😂😂 I’ll stick to my iPod, it never lets me down ✊🏾#goodvibes#soulfulsunday
Give yourself the gift of loving yourself. For some it’s a struggle and others it may come easy. For those who are struggling, learn to make yourself a priority. You’ll find when you do you’ll feel better about yourself and will enjoy life more. You’ll want to be around positive energy and start removing yourself from negativity. Don’t think it’s selfish to love yourself because when you love yourself you become a better person, friend, parent, spouse or child. Love yourself unconditionally and choose to be grateful for what you have. Choose today to love yourself. ❤️ #Soulfulsunday#chooseyou#thankful#dontgiveuponyourdreams#purposedrivenlife
Soulful Sunday: we all have gifts to give this world but if we aren’t our authentic self, we can’t do it well or at all! When I fear rejection because I value approval more than being genuine, I cannot offer the gift I have for people. When I put up blocks in my mind for why someone might say no, I fail to help someone who might want and be ready for help. When I “tone myself down”, people don’t get to see the passion and light I get to share with this world. How are you not being your authentic, passion-filled self?
FB friends at powerfulinspirationdaily offered this gorgeous image that went with my message and line of thinking today. Sending you love and acceptance today and all days. No shame, blame or beating up here! Control is something that evades us in every area of our life accept in how we respond (and if we respond), even if it doesn't generally feel that way. We often want people to act, react, respond or not respond in certain ways, ways that feel comfortable and "typical" for us because then we don't have to be vulnerable. We can avoid vulnerability and being real. Ultimately, avoiding vulnerability is the control we want. If or when we "should someone," we are wanting to control them and not have them jar our perspective or make us feel. If we could turn that around and go inside and see what we are feeling then we could take care of our own needs and wants, our own vulnerability. That will also give us the opportunity to be mindful towards the other person. And see them for who they are in their experience (with- out judgment) and how they are acting. This is the opportunity to be vulnerable and accept them for all that they are and who they are regardless of what it brings up for us. Vulnerability is uncomfortable for many of us. At the same time we put ourselves out there and put our hearts and wholeselves out there seeking connection, understanding, love, and acceptance. This is extremely vulnerable. We all want acceptance for whoever we are. ❤💗❤.#vulnerability#acceptance#feelings#control#lettinggo#reactions#therapywithalyse#therapy#awareness#mindfulness#selfcaresunday#soulfulsunday#serenitysunday#sunday#sundayvibes#feelingsmatter#mentalhealthmatters

Happy Sunday everyone! I wanted to share a pivotal part of my week. Every Sunday I cook and meal plan for my upcoming week. I've been doing this pretty regularly for the past 5 months and I have to say, it has changed my whole outlook on food as well as time. It was a challenge at first especially when we typically reserve our weekend for chilling or unwinding, but honestly the small sacrifice of time one day a week works wonders. Not only have I lost weight, but I've found I have the energy and time to focus on even more goals during the week. I hope this is helpful... 😊
It's a mixed bag of feedback that we get as Public Figures... .
As we choose to live our life OUT LOUD to guide and assist others in their journey of life and business...
Not everyone is going to agree with you...
Not everyone is going to LOVE or LIKE you...
Some will actually send you hate mail....
And others... yes, this is the best part... .
Will message you that you changed their life for the BETTER!
Just keep going...
Just keep shining...
You can't control others perspective ...
And you can't control the outcome...
Just keep shining your light...
That's what God created you for!
Answer to HIM only.... .

Today’s Soulful Sunday features Percy Sledge soulfully singing “When A Man Loves A Woman” (WAMLAW) Let’s be honest, if you’ve never heard this song then you’ve been living under a rock!!!🤯
If you are living under a rock but are following me, please listen. This is actually a Public Service Announcement (do you have these outside the USA?), for people who live under rocks.
Oh yeah, about this song:
When A Man Loves A Woman, recorded originally by Percy Sledge in 1966, is ranked the 53rd greatest song of ALL TIME by Rolling Stone magazine.
According to Percy Sledge:
“When I wrote the song at first, it was called ‘Why Did You Leave Me Baby’. And I changed it from that to ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’. I just reversed it. I was told that if I was to write some lyrics around that melody and the expression I'd put into ‘Why Did You Leave Me Baby’, they like believed it would've been a hit record. Quinn, who was one of the top disc jockeys at that time, asked me if I had any lyrics for that. He said, ‘That's it! Write a story around that title! What a song that would be with that feeling you had!’ It was a song that was meant to be. It wasn't just what I had done; it was the musicians, the producer, the background singers, the right time.”
FUN FACT: Sledge did not receive a writer’s credit for this song.🤬
FUN FACT II: Bette Midler had a hit record with her version of WAMLAW (never heard it🤷🏻♂️)
FUN FACT III: Michael Bolton had a no.1 hit with his version of WAMLAW (wish I’d never heard it😱).
FUN FACT III: Percy Sledge’s real name is...Percy Sledge.
FUN FACT IV: Chubby Checker’s real name is...Chubby Checker
FUN FACT V: If you believed Fun Fact IV I would like to talk to you about buying some affordable property with a stunning view of New Jersey swampland. DM me if interested.👍🏻
FUN FACT VI: I was looking for a Percy Sledge (real name) video closer to 1966, but his lip syncing was so badly off it looked like a foreign movie whose translation is ridiculously off.🙀
Being a seeker, staying curious, & having a spirit of perseverance can get us very far in our quest for #wellness …especially when we have #chronicillness or a “mysterious” condition. The same goes for those who suddenly find themselves uncovering old #trauma (& many times the two go hand-in-hand). Once we know something is “wrong” it can become an urgent battle to get away from, or “clean-up," whatever ugly thing is haunting us. There can be an overwhelming sense of "enough time wasted already," served up with a gigantic side of a mixed bag of uncomfortable emotions…fear, sadness, anger, grief, you name it. ”Let’s go…let’s get this fixed.”
So many of us frantically want to try everything, all at once. We are eager to #heal , which is completely natural. But what if we shifted our #mindset during the #healingprocess ? What if we could perceive ourselves like a beloved child with the Flu? How would the ways in which we care for ourselves change if we already saw ourselves as precious, perfect, & whole? What would it be like to support the strengths already shining through to lift up what feels like weaknesses or malfunctions in us? How would it feel to acknowledge & focus on what is so very “right” & working well in & around us?
You see…our brains are constantly trying to protect us from pain, from tragedy, from failure, so they work really hard to categorize every new experience into old files of what we have already been through. It keeps the negative & “worst case” front & center so we can do everything in our power to avoid it. Thank goodness for that (in many ways), but we also have to be #mindful & actively refocus to see the positives & all the good. It’s there…even when it feels like it isn’t…& THAT is the place where deep #healing grows rapidly. We just have to HELP ourselves get there…see it, feel it, dance with it, live in it...& never let it far from your reach.
The chakana. The Inca Cross. ✨
What exactly does it represent??
I suppose most interpretations would end up being contingent upon what you read or who you speak to. .
“As far as we know, only Sapiens can talk about entire kinds of entities that they have never seen, touched or smelled.”
For me personally, wearing the chakana around my neck reminds me that I am part of something so much larger than that which I can always articulate. It feels like home. .
#soulfulsunday Do you ever wonder when you are going to “arrive” in this life? 🤔⤵️
Do you ever think that “if I could just be here” things would feel right. Or do you catch yourself looking at others and comparing your journey to theirs? It is so easy to get caught up in the destination of our lives. We think that we will be so fulfilled if we just had this much money, or looked this way, or had that job, or this relationship, and on and on....
My wife @rootedmovement and I are very futuristic thinkers so we can easily obsess over “what’s next”. Now that we’re older, we are realizing that life is a process of maturity. We are learning that WHO we’re BECOMING is more important than WHAT we’re DOING. It’s so valuable to have goals and work hard for them. But we have to be careful not to attach our joy to that goal. One of my favorite quotes is, “God cares more about who I am than what I do.” All this to say, enjoy the process and don’t stress over future goals. Take time to look at your soul. Maybe let your soul be the goal. Besides, if you fixate on the destination, you’re going to miss a lot of beautiful and powerful moments in between 🙌🏻
Practically speaking, practice gratitude and joy and prayer. Practice being thankful for what you have achieved or been given. Joyfully celebrate the wins in your life that happen every day on your way to your goal. And pray to be aware of who you are becoming and what your next step is daily 🙏🏻

That’s my living room floor. Aged, battered, marred as families moved across her for decades. Despite the imbedded glitter, deep scratches, dark stains, I love this floor. It’s got character. Charm. Stamina. Each plank, each nick tells a story of life’s joys and struggles. Of perseverance and the beauty that comes with time. There’s a grace about these floors. So, I nourish them with Thieves cleaner. Organic, like her. Seems appropriate. Respectful. Natural. She’s not perfect, but, damn, she’s beautiful. There’s a lesson there for all of us. #natural#wood#flawed#beautiful#organic#grace#thankful#soulfulsunday#feedmewell#beauty
