Much love in my heart for this man 💙 and that I have someone who pushes me to work hard everyday. We crushed the workout today and pushed ourselves to put in the work. So glad that he introduced me to CrossFit Hideout. 🏋🏻♀️ It’s been amazing getting to experience a new challenge and way of training my body. Taking some time to refocus this week and reestablish my goals so that I can continue to crush them and keep moving forward. 🙌🏼🌟
As many of you already know, four years ago, I lost my mother to cancer. Back then, we weren’t feeling so “lucky.” Between the hospital visits and surgeries coupled with witnessing the gradual decline of my mother’s health was one of the most difficult trials I’ve ever had to endure.
On the other hand, last year, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer and we were lucky enough to catch it early. It was scary, but just this year, she received an “all-clear” and we couldn’t be happier!
Over a decade ago, my father developed prostate cancer and kicked its butt so hard, he’s had no reoccurrence to this day. Still… there is an undeniable amount of “luck” involved in anyones cancer survival. My mother fought her disease just as hard, but sometimes it comes down to a roll of the dice.
This just won’t do.
That’s why I’m running the @nycmarathon In November to raise money for cancer research with @fredsteammskcc , because I want to take “luck” OUT of the cancer equation. We need to find a cure so that the next time anyone hears those words “it’s cancer,” they don’t have to feel like it’s a trip to Atlantic City if they want to survive. However, I can’t do it alone. That’s why I hope you’ll consider donating to Fred’s Team and Memorial Sloan-Kettering to make sure donations will make the maximum impact on this insidious problem. Any amount will help reach our goal and help take us one step closer to a cure.
Over the past 250 days I’ve chosen to be #inspiredtomove365 and I did this for me. Now it’s time to flip the script and devote the rest of the year to taking on this terrible disease. Thank you so so so much for your support! ❤️❤️

200(ish) miles in just over 30 hours with our team of twelve amazing runners; Ragnar Northwest Passage is officially done! This weekend has been both mentally and physically exhausted - between the heat, the miles, the lack of sleep, and being confined to a van. But it was an absolutely incredible experience and pushed us all out of out comfort zones. (Who knew that running in the middle of nowhere at 1am would be the greatest feeling?) Running is always such an individual sport - you run for your pace, for your own race. But relays are different - you get to come together as a team, to cheer each other, to inspire each other, and create epic memories together. You are no longer just running to be the best you can for yourself, but for your team as well. I am so thankful I was able to share this adventure with my team. ... The wildest adventures become the best stories. 🏃♀️🏃♂️🚐🚐☀️🌑🧡 #ragnarnwp#tandapdx
It was so nice to wrap up a tough week of hammering nonstop daily 2-a-days with a beautiful & easy long run in an iconic part of North County San Diego I've been running for decades; Torrey Pines.
LSE RUN: 13mi, 2:05, 1500' elevation on road, trail, beach, rock, sand, ocean, singletrack, climbs, descents, views.. we covered it all today & the ONLY agenda was time on feet. (By the time I write this, I'm 19hrs into a 24hr fast & I feel phenomenal.)
PS - upon starting this training block w/ @mackroesch 8 days ago, I honestly didn't know how a week of training w/ someone in my space, my world, my home, my life would work. Fortunately, he came to work & was 100% along for the ride on everything we did w/ not a single complaint. He always rose to the occasion & was ready for everything I threw at us. And, we never "rewarded" ourselves for the hard daily work completed by shoving our faces or partying at night as we are both playing the long game.
