If you're nervous to start running trails, we welcome you to give our trail races a shot. Marked about every 150 feet, so it's hard to get lost. Super generous time limits so the pressure is off. Not bad for a Tuesday!  I admit I was a little discouraged post marathon.  I admit, I’m not super patient and waiting for my body to catch up with my brain is frustrating.  The good news is that I am starting to feel stronger post marathon.  Hoping to being back to feeling 100% soon.  For now, I’m happy with this.  Loving the warm up!!!

Beautiful crisp fall run in the Falls. One end to the other. Eclipsed 1,100 miles for the year this morning. Should’ve been 2-3 weeks ago but missed 15 days and 50/60 miles from the knee. Heavy dunes and beach run. Had a very short "itch" in the ribs, but it disappeared as quick as it started. No worries there 🙂. So lucky to have this at a running distance from my doorstep 😍.

Found the perfect spot to enter the trail. There’s a @rideindego kiosk right there. Easy ride to the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk and back. Perfect weather for it too. No pain while biking! I’ll take it as a sign to sign up for a spin class while my ClassPass trial is still active.

I never had any reason to believe I would be a runner obsessed with races.
•
As a child, I had awful asthma.
•
I had moments where the coughing was so intense I would throw up.
•
Growing up, I would periodically have to have doctor’s excuses from gym class.  I never felt like I fit in, and sitting on the sidelines only perpetuated that belief.
•
As much as my asthma limited me, deep down I knew I loved to run.
•
I never ran track or cross country, but something inside of me told me it was a deep love of mine.
•
4 years ago, I ran my first race and was crazy enough to sign up for a 15k as the first one.
•
As soon as I was surrounded by the running community, I was addicted.
•
I eventually had the end goal of running a half marathon, never envisioning anything beyond that.
•
In 2016, I ran my first half and limiting beliefs STILL held me back.  Not only did I not see myself as an athlete but I still didn’t see myself as a runner 🤦🏻‍♀️
•
Finally my coach knocked some sense into me, “Bitch please.  You just ran A HALF MARATHON!”
•
After that, I went balls to the wall and signed up for a full marathon.
•
My asthma has been non existent for longer than I can remember and no matter what ego tries to tell me, I choose to change the story.
•
Today was day 2 of half marathon training and I laughed to myself, “You’re one crazy bitch, training for a half marathon in only 5 weeks.  Hell yes, girl.  You are one badass motherfucker.”
•
I no longer set weight loss or size goals.
•
I set physically challenging goals and set out to do the “impossible” time and time again 👊🏻

W7D1: rest day. More 😴
W7D2: 6 recovery miles in mostly darkness. I’m a fan of the cooler temps but not the later sunset. Can’t win em all. Still feeling a bit meh but almost back to normal, thank goodness 🙏🏻. Hopefully I can get through my speed workout tomorrow 🤞🏻.

Après une bonne semaine d'arrêt dû à mon nouveau travail, (j'avoue avoir eu quelques craintes de pas tenir la séance..) petite reprise au lever du soleil. Le grand bonheur d'avoir une température légèrement en-dessous des 20 degrés.
Un petit 10K à 5"06, avant de partir à la fac !

The perfect song came on during the last mile and I went for it and I didn’t care that my watch was telling me slow down. Good thing tomorrow is a rest day!! I’m going to go eat all the food now ✌️🥞🍳🍎

Trabalho interessante publicado por Karsten e colaboradores em 2015. O trabalho teve 2 objetivos principais: verificar o ganho de performance do treinamento de força associado com o treinamento de corrida e posteriormente verificar o destreinamento do treino de força na manutenção da performance.  Para isto, durante 6 semanas, 16 corredores foram divididos em 2 grupos: grupo que somente treinou endurance (END) e grupo que treinou concorrente, ou seja, força e corrida (CON). O protocolo de força continha 4 exercícios para membros inferiores, 4 séries de 4 repetições a 80% de 1RM. Após essas 6 primeiras semanas, houve uma diminuição de 3.63% no tempo de prova no teste de 5KM para o grupo concorrente (CON), sem alteração significativa no grupo que só treinou corrida.

Em seguido, os 16 corredores realizaram mis 6 semanas de treinamento, só que agora todos os atletas treinavam somente corrida, não realizando treinamento de força. O grupo que havia melhorado a performance com o treino de força (CON) perdeu tais ganhos.

Resumindo, não existe a necessidade de se parar com o treino de força em fase de preparação para uma competição. O trabalho teve 2 objetivos principais: verificar o ganho de performance do treinamento de força associado com o treinamento de corrida e posteriormente verificar o destreinamento do treino de força na manutenção da performance.  Para isto, durante 6 semanas, 16 corredores foram divididos em 2 grupos: grupo que somente treinou endurance (END) e grupo que treinou concorrente, ou seja, força e corrida (CON). O protocolo de força continha 4 exercícios para membros inferiores, 4 séries de 4 repetições a 80% de 1RM. Após essas 6 primeiras semanas, houve uma diminuição de 3.63% no tempo de prova no teste de 5KM para o grupo concorrente (CON), sem alteração significativa no grupo que só treinou corrida. Em seguido, os 16 corredores realizaram mis 6 semanas de treinamento, só que agora todos os atletas treinavam somente corrida, não realizando treinamento de força. O grupo que havia melhorado a performance com o treino de força (CON) perdeu tais ganhos. Último longão antes da maratona! 25k sozinha na estrada. Nunca desejei tanto que começasse a fase de polimento. Dei tudo de mim nos treinos. Quero curtir muito a prova. Sem expectativas. 7 km in unter 50 min! Für mich ein absolut hammermäßiger Erfolg, der mich extrem viel Schweiß und jede Menge Luft gekostet hat😓 Die erste Hälfte bin ich in moderatem Tempo und einer Pace von 7:22 min gelaufen. In der zweiten Hälfte hab ich dann (für meine Verhältnisse) echt Knallgas gegeben👟 In meinem besten Kilometer bin ich eine 6:31er Pace gelaufen🙏 Leute, ich hab wirklich keine Ahnung, wie einige von euch eine Pace von 5 hinkriegen🤔 Dafür hat jeder einzelne von euch meinen allergrößten Respekt👌 Die Pace, die ich heute gelaufen bin, kann ich wirklich nur punktuell aufbringen, auf keinen Fall dauerhaft😅 Zumindest NOCH nicht... Aber was für mich viel wichtiger ist, ist dass ich die 7 km in unter 50 min gepackt habe. Genau 49:32 min habe ich gebraucht und ich bin damit wirklich mehr als happy😍 Damit hätte ich nach so kurzer Zeit überhaupt nicht gerechnet. Somit zeigt sich wieder: Dranbleiben lohnt sich💪 Wieder ein Ziel mehr erreicht, das ich mir gesetzt hatte✔ Jetzt geht's ab in die Wanne, Quanten entspannen... Neben dem 3stündigen Selbstverteidigung's Training ging es für mich noch eine Runde laufen.
Geplant waren eigent nur 4-5k aber wenn man sich im wald verirrt und aufeinmal mitten im wald steht muss man halt ein #traillauf machen und es werden 10 anstrengende Kilometer🤣

VO2 max is achieved when your oxygen consumption is at a steady state despite an increase in the workload. Moving from aerobic metabolism to anaerobic metabolism. In two weeks I will receive the report with training schedule for the #parismarathon. Now I can train more effectively. I’m very curious... 🏃🏻‍♂️

Aujourd’hui c’était haut du corps 🏋🏼‍♀️ et demain Legs day, la séance la plus dur de la semaine 🙄

Bon apparement c’est pas terrible de s’étirer juste après un entraînement 🤷🏼‍♀️ dommage j’aimais bien à la fin d’une séance mais ça repousserait la récupération, il faut donc attendre le lendemain ou sur lendemain, c’est e=m6 qui l’a dit 🧐 Et vous vous faites comment ?

Who’s that N finishing @philly9417 @jonasericmasa Lol. You start off The 2018 with a nice 10k PR and follow it up with another PR during your half marathon in Oakland. All set and ready for Boston right? Hype was real for Boston. Got my dope family and friends sponsoring me for the race. Made shirts. Family, Co workers, managers tracking me . 24.5 miles into the race everything stopped. Was cold. Was hurt. Cramping up. Stopped at the church to warm up and finished with a time I haven’t seen before in a long time. Of course I was upset. But still celebrated with @jonasericmasa @siggysmalls76 @orchid613 40 🥃’s later. Lost a lot of confidence in myself after. Took a long break. Didn’t run that much. Sucked it up. Training wasn’t good as the past. But the past two weeks been good. Qualified for #boston2020 and #nycmarathon2019. Confidence is back. Ready to tackle 2019 soon! After this much deserved break!
