I woke up CRAVING a run today. 🏃♀️ I love taking a break from running after the marathon to do other things. 🚲 But, today I just wanted to run slow enough that I wouldn’t have to shed my puffy vest! Winter running is the best!!! ❄️
No post-race blues for me! Though, that's happened plenty of times before. 🤓🤷🏻♀️I always take two weeks off from running after a marathon. A few things that help keep me happy after races and taking a break are:
-Have a good book ready (or whatever you're hobby is).
-Pick a show/movie you've been meaning to watch.
-Enjoy some walks to get outside.
-Yoga, my favorites are @corepoweryoga and @adrienelouise
-Call parents or friends
-Do stuff around the house you've been putting off (oh, like buying a dining room table, hanging pictures on the wall, and and donating items, like I need to do 😭😂)
-A lot of other stuff, because running isn't everything.
It's also easy to take a break this time of year, holiday parties, traveling, Christmas shopping. The marathon ended right at the perfect time! I get sad after summer/fall races when it's sitll warm outside and I want to get out there more.

My first half marathon completed with a chip time of 2:22:18 😁😁😁 along with the other #zero2hero guys 🤘🤘
My longest run so far even though Garmin decided it was only 13.07 miles so won't show as a half time 😩😤
Anyone know if you can manually adjust the distance?
I'm over the moon with my result today as I couldn't even run a mile in April and now I'm a #halfmarathoner 💪💪
Had to get my run in early, it was 38 degrees when I started, and this is about as “Winter” as my running gear gets. 😂 I may add gloves when we hit low 30’s but thats about it. My hands were a little cold but otherwise fabulous running weather here today, looks like Fall! 🍂🍁😂🙌🏼
What a run! Got a little over 5 miles complete with a great pace.
But when I went out to run, I saw my new friend! My sister-in-law dropped it off last night and didn't see it until this morning. The #rhino is my animal spirit.

The bib is attached, the clothes have been picked and the drop bag is tagged all ready for tomorrow.
Now all I need to do is turn up and run 🏃😂😂.
Tomorrow is my first half marathon and a new PB 🙌🙌
I just need to remember the most important thing is to finish, the time is irrelevant 🤔 although the slower I go the easier it'll be to beat it next time 😮😜
(Multiple photos ->) INFECTIOUS JOY! 😀 That’s what my kids shared today with everyone they saw out there on the @bmwdallasmarathon 5k and 10k courses!!!!
We were a little apprehensive about running in the 40 degree temps and rain but my kids really wanted to do it this morning so we bundled up and stayed warm in the Pegasus Lounge beforehand. 👨👩👧👦 My 7 year old son, Parker, decided to back down to the 5k at the last minute because of how cold and wet it was but my 9 year old daughter, Carleigh, didn’t want to budge - 10k or bust!!! ❤️
The happiness and awe they had with themselves upon finishing was totally worth the numb toes, wet feet, soggy socks and matted hair!!! ☔️My daughter and I both wore matching @athleta polartec tights that are lined in fleece and oh-so warm! 🔥 They saved us today, I have to say! (I’ll link them in my stories later on!!!)
So glad to share this experience with them and couldn’t be prouder!!! Now to run the 50k tomorrow!!! 🤗🎉👯♀️
Somehow I never posted yesterday's workout! Mea culpa. I attempted a run, but gave up and used the Peloton instead. It just wasn't feeling good, and I'm trying to stay uninjured... Easier said than done.
Listos los 10k de la #lanzamarathon , una carrera marcada por el viento en contra constante por los constantes sube-y-baja del recorrido.
Por mi parte, contento con mis 40’35” en un circuito exigente por sus múltiples toboganes y largo (10,6km aprox).
Y ahora, a seguir disfrutando de la isla, que a eso hemos venido!!😋

#raceday Muy lejos de donde me gustaría estar, voy teniendo mejores sensaciones semana tras semana. Hoy un 10k en 44:17, justo hace una semana me salía un 10k en valencia a 44:50 (plano, con cero viento y sufriendo mucho más q hoy) así que he acabado muy muy contenta con este resultado. Es donde estoy HOY, todavía quedan semanas de preparación para la Maratón. Vamos! Foto @juanmimori
🔹Hoy 11K con 345 m D+ 🏔 Jaca - Fuerte Rapitán - Ipás - Jaca. La verdad es que muy divertido, he disfrutado y he tenido buenas sensaciones. Cosa importante tras haberme machacado hace menos de una semana en #maratonvalencia
