Trying my hand at making reshmi kabab for the first time.
Since all skewers were polished off by the end of dinner, I can safely bet that it turned pretty decent.
And by that I mean that I would be experimenting quite a bit with kabab recipes this Diwali. 🍡🍢🍖🍗👩🍳 #reshmikabab#grilledchicken#indianfood#girlswhocook#foodie#cooking
Kal #office ke baad doston ke saath #shopping waghera ka plan bana aur nikalgaye hum bhi aadat se majboor, sheher ke #malls ghoomne. Ab zaahir hai dost bahaar nikle hue hon aur #khaane peene ka scene na bane, aisa hota nahi hai usually. But I wasn’t in the mood for that typical food stuff like karahi, #pizzas and #burgers kyunke woh sab tou chalta hi rehta hai. So I ended up stopping at the #LuckyOne outlet of #Chachajee and tried their ongoing deal of 2 Naanwich (the #ReshmiKabab ones) with two drinks. Paid 500 rupees for it aur pandra minute baad, haathon main thi.
Now to tell you about this; it wasn’t a #shawarma , not even some pita bread filled roll, this wasn’t your ordinary #kabab with naan sort of thing either. Unique aur kaafi different sa experience tha. Garma garam soft se naan main succulent and generous filling of freshly barbecued Reshmi Kabab with sauces, #mayo and veggies. Aur kya chahiye? Quite a nice substitute than those regular #snacks we munch, I’d say!
Matlab 500 main aise do with cold drinks? Aur kya chahiye? Zaroor jao aur iss deal ko enjoy karo. Mujhe duaaein dogay aur haan – there’s no ‘cleaner’ way to eat this. Kuch bhi karlo, the sauces will drip and I guess that makes the #experience more tasteful. Yeh #Karachi , #Lahore aur #Islamabad , jidhar jidhar bhi malls main @chachajeepk bana hua hai, wahaan ki har outlet pe available hai so make sure you try this ASAP before they close this deal as it’s a limited time offer!

Clean and pat dry the chicken breast using a paper towel
Cut the chicken breasts in bite-sized cubes. Place them in a mixing bowl.
In a food processor add coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilli, lime juice and salt to taste.
Make a smooth paste and pour it over the chicken cubes. Add ginger paste, garlic paste, drained plain yogurt/ hung curd, milk powder, sugar (optional) and salt to taste.
Cover and leave to marinate for couple hours. The longer they marinate, the softer and tender the meat turns out.
Add 1 tsp of oil and give everything a mix.
Gently place the meat onto the skewers.
Heat a non-stick frying pan /grill pan over medium high heat, add 1 tbsp of butter. Once the butter melts, add the skewers and cook them for 15 mins on each side until they brown.
Reduce the flame to low and continue to cook while you prepare the charcoal.
Heat charcoal on stove untill it turns red at the edges and a layer of white ash forms. Place the glowing coal in a small metallic dish and place on the frying pan. Drop 1 tsp of ghee on the coal and cover the frying pan with the lid. Set aside to smoke for about 5 minutes
