Day's no.1 to no.9 and the first batch of my first #inktober . This includes drawings 1-9 including the variation for day 1, seeing as I didn't want to start on a bum note. Every drawing is labelled and dated.
The next batch will on or around the 20th with drawings 10 to 20, ending with 21 to 31 in the final batch on the 31st. I've treated this inktober as an ideas generation exercise. Since beginning to start drawing again after my 6 year hiatus, retraining myself and developing over a 1/3 of a new portfolio from my last one for a number of years, over a couple of months, my main focus has been on the comic and developing to tell that's story. As a result I've not really been sketching anything I'd been known over the years to do, odd little musings I'd sell and people found entertaining. With the thematic concern staying the same, I've wanted to use this time to develop my style and hone the craft really. I would say, there will be images that will be close to bone, I'm not shy to show that side but I'll want to experiment too. One thing I've missed and have come to realise, is that drawing relaxes me. Enough so that by 2am drawing no.9 last night and falling sleep with a pen in my hand. Basically, I've felt I'd denied myself for personal reasons, something that I enjoyed and made the little stressful ball of nerves, less so.
So, I'd written a huge personal post to occompany this and it was all gone... Anyway, expect the next batch when mentioned and hopefully you like my strange little musings. PEACE.
