Today's deadlift warmup included taking three plates off of my gym's deadlift bar that someone had in the landmine because @scottpoyner went and turned me into a barbell snob and lots of booty shaking because I had the deadlift room to myself for a whole THIRTY MINUTES 😍😍 enjoy my arch set up because 1) I can still arch with no pain 2) arching is the proper way to bench 3) arching is good for your shoulders and doesn't hurt your back. Also, enjoy my jiggly thighs because a little bit of jiggle here and there doesn't affect my worth as a human being. It doesn't affect yours either. New Year's is coming up fast, and I know a lot of people are resolving to get fit in the new year. I just want you to take a minute and ask yourself if your goals are for you or if you're trying to fit in the box that society is trying to put you in. My body is capable of so many wonderful things. It is strong. It is healthy. It grew an entire human being one time. It's come back from injury more than once. I believe there have been times in my life when my exterior may have looked "prettier," but I have never been more beautiful than when I made the decision to start embracing myself and loving my body and learning what truly makes *me* happy. I'm not here to please anyone. I'm not here to fit in a box. I'm not here to live up to anyone else's standards. I struggled for a really long time trying to always be good enough. One day, I realized that I have been all along, and anyone who doesn't see it, that's their loss. Not mine.
▪️On #Friday we FLEX bruh! (Swizipe lizeft!⬅️) 🏋🏽♂️
1st 🎥: Decided to give 265lbs another go at the #squatrack today. I was able to push through with a love tap from the pretty lady, but felt like I could have fought the weight more. For this reason I am making it my new goal to hit 265lbs by the end of the year without a spot. #babysteps
I also incorporated some #lowbarsquats (which I hardly ever do) #legextensions and #calveraises to finish out quad and calve day. Low bar squats are great for getting stronger hamstrings and posterior chain. Will probably try to attack 265 later this month with this method and see if my body pushes weight more efficiently with this technique 🙌🏽 ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Halfway through the last month of the bulk and I don’t think i’ll hit my goal of 170, but thats OK considering that I’m trying to put on good weight (muscle mass) and keep the bad weight at a minimum (fat gain). Are my legs getting bigger yet? 😅 ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Sound on for some really lovely singing by my 3 year old. Anywho, tested out my leg strength tonight since it’s been a while. Happy that I got 3 singles @ 185 so I’m not too much worse off than I was a few months ago. I’m not much of a power lifter, but I try to be buff dammit. More leg flex pics coming soon. You all know I love those. #quadzilla#getfit
Happy birthday to the most amazing man @liamwalt. I am so freaking appreciative of you every day. I know I’m not alone in saying you’re an absolute legend and you deserve to have the best day. 😘 PS - can we note that Liam has always had toned quads?! 😍🥰 #quadzilla#32#cutestkideverrr#thoseeyes

HEEL ELEVATED GOBLET SQUAT- MOVEMENT OF THE WEEK🥴
Check out Coach Jena’s demonstrating this one!
Elevating the heels up on plates will assist any individual who has limitations with ankle dorsiflexion ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Start with body weight first to get used to the heel elevated position- you will also feel more of a quad emphasis with these guys!
Hot tip🔥It’s crucial to CLEAN the weight up to your front position. Generating POWER from the hips and catching the weight will allow you to squat heavier😈 make sure you’re hinging with a flat back to pick up your weights🤓
This variation of the squat will be more quad dominant (🍑🍑 still doin work don’t worry😉) while challenging the core more with your front load. Don’t forget to corkscrew the hips out of the hole ☝🏼
