Here’s what I will miss about Houston most. Its people and feeling of camaraderie. When I came to @projectrowhouses one year ago for a wire sculpture workshop with Jesse Lott, I could barely speak English. Today I have completed two projects with Jesse and share my blues-related adventures with Rick Lowe. I admire these two wonderful artists and activists and respect everybody who makes PRH ideas happen. I love Third Ward 🌚
Took these guys to the closing day of ‘Collect | Preserve | Change’ — a fascinating posthumous collection of artist #TracyHicks ' #art +#science collaborations. They we're very enthusiastic about the specimens on the laboratory table, and added to the archive of Houston’s Third Ward #ProjectRowHouses . Bravo to The #UTDallas ' SP/N Gallery, Greg Metz, Brian Scott, and many others for making this happen. #steam#HiddenRichardson
Engaging conversation, between two “non-fern” plants, with our guest speaker, Ryan Dennis of Project Row Houses and FSU’s Assistant Professor Dr. Willie Wright from Geography and African American Studies.
Students from the Department of Art and Geography were invited to this conversational colloquium about the place of public art. Thanks so much to Ryan for meeting with my students and sharing your stories! - 🌿🎤🌿! #fsuart#fsucfa#projectrowhouses @ryandennistaylor
Tonight, 7-9pm | 'Pythia is a Black Girls Name'
Autumn Knight, (Interdisciplinary Performance Artist)
2505 Holman Street 'Pythia is a Black Girls Name,' created and conducted by Li Harris, is a ritual improvisational performance series that will happen monthly *at the House of Practice, on the evenings of the New Moon. The interactive performance is presented as an order of service which includes the public's realization and sounding of the graphic score by the same name, as well a guest appearance by a master practitioner who will portray "Pythia" in the manner of their own unique practice, during the performance ceremony and new moon blessings.
Art, Culture, and the Urban Landscape. @ProjectRowHouses had a fantastic, sold out 25th anniversary gala. Happy to be a supporter and creator of art in many forms. #projectrowhouses#projectrowhousesgala

This 1st image personifies our joy at the @projectrowhouses 25th Anniversary Gala last night! THANK YOU to everyone that played a part in making last night an amazing success!! We would not have been able to accomplish our goal without all of the sponsors, donors, supporters and officers and staff of PRH! Congratulations to Eureka Gilkey and the founders for their amazing work in the third ward community #projectrowhouses#partywithapurpose#grownupprom
Blessed to be at Project Row Houses 25th Anniversary Gala where I heard, "if you see a turtle on top of a tall post, you may not know exactly how it got there, but you do know it had some help." Glad to be another turtle in the room 🐢🐸 #projectrowhouses#houston#gala
Happy 25th birthday to @projectrowhouses! 🎉 Located in Houston's Third Ward, a historic African-American neighborhood, #ProjectRowHouses is a community platform that enriches lives through art with an emphasis on cultural identity & its impact on the urban landscape. We're thrilled to distribute their book Collective Creative Actions, all about the history of the neighborhood & the powerful impact of #socialart in its development. #PRH25

Happy to contribute to @projectrowhouses 25th Anniversary Art Auction. The 25th Anniversary Gala is sold out but you still can donate to help them to empower the under resourced and to create new ways for people to see themselves differently and to become a better version of themselves. Head to their website to show some love 💸💕
Project Row Houses is a community platform that enriches lives through art with an emphasis on cultural identity and its impact on the urban landscape. We engage neighbors, artists, and enterprises in collective creative action to help materialize sustainable opportunities in marginalized communities.
Project Row Houses occupies a significant footprint in Houston’s Historic Third Ward, one of the city’s oldest African-American neighborhoods. The site encompasses five city blocks and houses 39 structures that serve as home base to a variety of community enriching initiatives, art programs, and neighborhood development activities. PRH programs touch the lives of under resourced neighbors, young single mothers with the ambition of a better life for themselves and their children, small enterprises with the drive to take their businesses to the next level, and artists interested in using their talents to understand and enrich the lives of others. Although PRH’s African-American roots are planted deeply in Third Ward, the work of PRH extends far beyond the borders of a neighborhood in transition. The Project Row Houses model for art and social engagement applies not only to Houston, but also to diverse communities around the world.
Long story short, reach one .. teach one. This picture is so beautiful for so many reasons. What I love most about it is, we were all doing God’s work in different capacities. Shoutout to all of the women turning their visions into realities. Thanks @iamevanahmari for stopping me and thanks @margaritaville96 for your awesome insight!! (Peep the PV Alum in the back) none of this was planned lol. #projectrowhouses#round48#thebeautyofpr 📸: @dblaqbeauti_thinkingoutloud

“It just really affected me in a certain way because it could have been anyone. If I was born back in that time, it could have been me. I was the same age as him.” - Isaiah Harper
Isaiah was 1 of 16 students who joined us at the @nmaahc as part of our #PRH25 trip to DC. In a segment with Len Cannon of #KHOU he described the experience as a "rush of culture."
If you dig our oxtail, you’re in luck 😏 We’ve partnered with @projectrowhouses for the first annual @oxtailmashup, a culinary throwdown between some of our favorite Houston chefs. Head to the event page to snag your ticket, and find out more about this year’s competing chefs. | Pictured: @kitchen_713’s Oxtail Grilled Cheese
Houston is so rich in history, specifically black history. Filming in 3rd ward today was amazing. It’s a community that my sons can always visit to keep in touch with family roots. .
You are not going to want to miss our November sermon series @unionhouston!
The weather has changed up and maybe you have to change up the way you practice. Doors are open at the #houseofpractice until 5pm. Drop in and warm up in the thermal shower of #infrared heat, much like the healing rays of the ☀️. Find yourself, reflect, relax and release. 2505 Holman Street #projectrowhouses . #climatechange#solarpower#beyondsocialpractice .
