"You see that's why I work like a dog and I worked like a dog all my life. I am not interested in the academic status of what I am doing because my problem is my own transformation... Why should a painter work if he is not transformed by his own painting?" - Keith Haring

"The New Terrain" gouache on paper. Glimpsing the signalscape that occupies land, to sky and into space. It represents an invisible colonisation that enables a persistent readiness for action, including offensive and defensive activities - a persistent preparedness for war, 21st century style. Just can’t do it today, y’all. My adventure was mentally cleansing. Let me have the rest of the evening to enjoy this feeling. Will serve you plenty of f*ckery alongside my peanut butter sandwich tomorrow. For now, let’s just marvel at the deliciousness of this peanut butter sandwich that powered me up a mountain today 😋.
Have tons of excellent content lined up for my story tonight, but I’m heading back out to eat my body weight in….idk yet… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyway, will post it all whenever I make it home. I appreciate y’all’s patience 🙏
THE VERY AIR WE BEATHE
There’s nothing more vital to human survival than clean air. Oh, sure, other things are essential: water, food, and sleep. According to NASA, “the Earth’s atmosphere is an extremely thin sheet of air extending from the surface of the Earth to the edge of space.” It’s about 300 miles (480 kilometers) thick, but most of it is within 10 miles. 10 freaking miles! That’s nothing when it comes to space or even the size of our planet. If need be, most of us could walk 10 miles. This tiny covering is a fragile shield between us and oblivion and it blows me away how foolishly we take it for granted. When it’s gone, it’s gone and when it passes the point of no return, it’s on its way to being gone forever.
Here’s what’s important to know. Laws that passe these days basically do so because they’re bought and paid for. Since the dreaded Citizen’s United we’ve rapidly gotten more and more controlled by big business, who liaison with politicians through lobbyist’s who make the “pay to play” deals and even write the legislation they’re paying for. Even though a majority of Americans understand global warming and support governmental change to deal with it, industry lobbying still has far greater influence in Washington. Fossil fuel industries outspend clean energy advocates on climate lobbying by 10 to 1. Public opinion barely matters when it comes to Congress. This GOP controlled Congress has completely sold out. Until we get money out of politics the Fossil fuel industry will keep paying politicians to write legislation that lets them spew any poison they want into our precious air, no matter how toxic. Trump continues to slash and burn at vital environmental protections. He must be stopped. Hopefully, Mueller will come through sooner than later.
What we can do. Calls to representatives are always good. Showing up, protesting, spreading the word how ever you can. And most of all, vote BLUE come November. #bluewave2018 We can do this. Progressives unite, push forward. @blueravenartist
Jeff Bezos should pay his workers a living wage! But he chooses not to, his workers have to rely on food stamps to survive, this company is the problem not average workers! In this economy, jobs made for college and highschool students are the only jobs left in this country! We need to have Education as a human right, not everyone can afford to go to college for trades or degrees, some people don't even have a good support system at home, and they have to reply on these jobs that pay shit, also the work environment is shitty and people literally get in trouble for taking bathroom breaks!! This is fucking ridiculous, and these workers have to achieve ridiculous work goals that are impossible to achieve, I have friends who uses to work at amazon and they can confirm this bullshit, Jeff Bezos is making money off of his slave workers, just because he pays them minimum wage doesn't mean they are not slaves, because in this country if you work 40 hours a week and still don't make enough to pay the bills, how is that not slave labor? This asshole is making a shit ton of money and he doesn't have to break his back for it! Lets share this picture and shame this bitch cause he might as well be the devil, the richest man in America. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
‘Responding to issues of border control and the refugee crisis, Iranian artist duo Icy and Sot created a variety of fence and border interventions. The Brooklyn-based brothers most recently installed a piece outside The Lot Radio in New York, and exhibited several new artworks with Thinkspace Art Gallery for a show tited Human Nature.’ - (via: thisiscolossal.com) #artist#art#unique#borders#barriers#icyandscott#iranianartists#politicalart#makeadifference
