After my first year of pole dance, I can only say that it's really a strange feeling. 🤦🏻♀️
For years I postponed and searched for excuses because I did not want to show my body, I saw my defects so much.
After all.. in October 2017 I decided to start, to try.
My body in a year has not changed much, the weight is still the same and the defects are still there but surely the thing that the pole dance has changed was my mind.
Because however there may be a girls squad like you or better than you on pole tricks, but at the end you are alone with yourself on the pole.
With your difficulties and your weaknesses, with those exercises that come to everyone but not to you because you are not flexible enough or you don’t have enough strength. 🏋🏻♀️🏋🏻♀️
Whenever I could do a trick after trying it dozens of times, the satisfaction was unique. You saw and you see your body mold every day more. 🎉
Not so much in its forms but also in connection with your head, every muscle at that precise moment must answer to you.
Pole dance is not just a good photo to impress instagram or a choreo that comes well (because I still don’t know how to do so many choreos).
Pole dance has changed my mind giving me a new vision of me, even when there are NO days when I can’t do anything because I sweat, because I'm tired or because I'm nervous. 🤦🏻♀️🤬
If before I wore pants near my knee now I'm almost in my underwear to try new tricks.
I think it's a sport that everyone can do but that is not for everyone. 👙
A year ago I didn’t know what pole dance was, and perhaps as an stupid I also confused it with lap dance.
Now I can say that although i’m a new entry into this sport:
It will be hurt.
It will take time.
Maybe your not flexible as well
Maybe your not strong as you want or as you need.
You will need to push yourself harder than you can somedays and never go back down.
You need to fight with your fears, like stay on the pole upside down.
Maybe you’ll fall at your first time.
Maybe you’ll have a pole bruise map everyday (I still have it!) But at the end that’s what make it great!

Snippet of today’s bodyweight training. Had a little stroke of genius, to save myself from typing all the tips that I’d want to give you for these particular moves, I’ve voice recorded them over the video 🙌🏼 (funnily enough this idea came to me whilst voicing over a video I’d taken in a club to trick my brother 🙃) anyway, I hope it’s useful!

Great News!!!! We are going to have "Aerial Dance Advanced" classes in October. Every Wednesday from the 3rd of October at 17.00 Marie P. @mariepeschardt will work with you on long combos and advanced tricks you dreamed about! This class is 1.5 hour, so you will have a very good warm up and more time to try all tricks with the support. (10 spots max, one person per pole) This class will be available for all our members and "klippekort" students. If you don't have any, it's possible to sign in using a "drop in" for only 89kr.
