Without a doubt, having soft hearts toward each other is one of the biggest determining factors of a long-lasting marriage. Repentance is one indicator of a soft heart. When we repent, we acknowledge that we aren't perfect while placing our identity and worth in the one who is: Jesus.
Repentance is an ongoing part of every person who chooses to follow Christ. Really, it comes down to humility and self-awareness in light of God's ultimate holiness—it's a constant turning away from sin and death, toward Christ and life. It's a recognition of that which is against God's heart and the refusal to justify it as an acceptable way of life. “How can we possibly hold each others' sin against them when God hasn't held our sin against us?" This small reminder is one way we've found to help keep our hearts soft toward each other.
Let repentance and forgiveness be ongoing parts of your marriage. Have honest conversations about what it means to be holy and how God is working in your heart to reveal areas that need to be surrendered to him.
And most of all, when you sin against each other, confess it, repent quickly, and ask God to help you root out the underlying causes in your heart.
We're praying for you! May you experience all that God has for you and your marriage, by his grace, for your good, and always for His glory.
Yesterday, I stepped way out of my comfort zone to do this awesome fitness shoot! Grayson is a fitness instructor at only 16! I have to be honest though... watching everyone working out at the gym just made me want a milkshake 🤦🏼♀️ does that happen to anyone else? No? Just me? Oh well 🤷🏼♀️😂
All the feels from this day.... MRS SARAH STRANGE, such a beautiful bride, loving friend, gifted designer, I could go on and on but I’ll just say that right after she walked back down the aisle with her now sweet hubby, she ran up to me, with paint ALL over me and hugged me in her beautiful white dress, which speaks so much to her heart and her character! @sarrstrange you made a beautiful bride and the delight of the Lord was all over this day! What a spectacular experience and a wonderful day to be a part of! To know these two is to love these two. And a shoutout to the amazing photographers who captured these photos @michellelyerly + @boonetownstory . What a dream team. Can’t wait to show you guys the finished painting!
Let me just talk about my community for a minute. I can’t imagine running my business anywhere else. I have loved growing up in Moore County, but I love it more than ever now. I have such wonderful clients that constantly recommend me BEFORE THEY’VE EVEN HAD A SESSION WITH ME. Maybe you can get that anywhere, but I’d like to think it’s our special southern charm 😉 To top it off, we have the BEST local photography community. If you ever feel nervous about using a different photographer, DON’T. Yes, we love the loyalty and love having you as our clients, but we also love other local photographers. If I’m not available or can’t work with your budget or we just don’t fit well, I’m happy to refer you to the best people I know (and I’ve used several of them for my own personal photos). I’ve had local photographers second shoot with me, borrowed their kids for practice, gotten advice, worked together to create styled sessions for all of us to practice and learn together, and just this weekend borrowed a whole background and stand setup from another local photographer. You guys are the real MVP, by the way 🙌🏼 I’m so thankful to be a part of this wonderful community!
New digs + I’m loving it ✨can’t wait to show you the finished product 🙌 ~Also this easel, one I’ve used for 3 years now and nothing else was hand made by my best friend. Probably one of the sweetest and most treasured gifts I have ever received @abbycoggins .
