Focusing on control & form 👌🏽 @imy_hud working on reverse flies in a balance pose.
This fly movement focuses on working the mid back & posterior shoulders, while the lunge hold works on glutes, legs and balance 💕 Nice work Imogen!

You know, on a sunny, clear day you'd be hard pressed to find a quiet spot on Mt. Snowdon - the highest peak in England and Wales. Each year, thousands of tourists descend here to view, first-hand, the awe-inspiring granduer that this mountain has to offer. 🗻
Well, last night - smothered by dense fog and bleak winds - there was just me on that mountain: wearing a 20kg vest that caused both friction burn of the shoulders and crippling afflicition of the lower back. And did I mention I did this 3,000 calorie journey at the tail end of a 48-hour fast? 😨 The hunger was real, the pain was irrefutable - most poignantly after a quadricep injury that rendered every step a noble conquest as I fought to beat the night.
I think it was @diananyad - the best swimmer in the world - who said: "us humans, we love a story don't we?" Well, last night definitely had all the elements of a box office action thriller. And, now that I've eaten and slept, I'm thrilled to say there will definitley be an even bigger sequel! 🎬
Thanks for all the messages. They certainly kept me entertained during this gnarly adventure! Live this one life hard!🤘🏽
💙 I LOVE TOE TAPS 💙
Toe taps are appropriate for most bodies!
We are not putting additional pressure on the spine by crunching. It is elongated and stretched out, using our abdominal muscles (transverse abdominis) to control the lowering and lifting of the legs without arching the lower spine/ releasing the pelvis.
Use them as a warm-up for other more intense abdominal exercises or as part of a short, gentle self-directed Pilates sequence to strengthen your whole midsection. - take a few moment to lie on the floor and focus on the inhale and exhale of your breath. On the exhale engage the core and pelvic floor, allowing the belly button to sink down into the mat. Bringing the pelvis into a neutral alignment (this is the position we are wanting to hold throughout)
- Slowly float the right then left foot into the air, alongside the arms with the palms facing in
- Inhale to prepare, exhale and float the right toe out in front and down to the ground. Holding the position secured above, inhale to bring back to starting position - Repeat with the left. Repeat all x 12-16 before hugging the knees to the chest to relax the abdominal muscles. 👀To increase difficulty, you could move to a double toe tap. 👀 🤰🏻Not suitable for pregnant clients - however modifications can be made in class 🤰🏻 #toetaps#pilates#matpilates#backtobasicpilates#abdominalpilates#corepilates#pilateshighlane#pilatesstockport#pilatesbody#pilatesformen#pilatesbody#pilateseveryday
