This is a comment a received today. I did remove it from the post but I do think it's worth bringing up.
There are a few points brought up so I am going to do my best to address them all*
First of all, I do not intend to become a police officer, I personally perfer the security industry. This is not a stepping stone for me but I do hold the biggest respect for those in any and all forms of law enforcement.
Secondly and this comes up often, my gear. My gear consists of the following: two pairs of hand cuffs, drop leg that holds Narcan, my wallet and house keys, my cigarettes and shift depending my sunglasses. On my vest I carry personal phone, work phone and power bank and radio ( those are what are in the pockets everyone looses their mind about.) the small pockets hold pens, notebook and charging cord. My pockets often carry a beverage for a shift or I may use a camel back depending if I would perfer water. I use swat brand steel toes for my boots and 5.11 top and pants. I wear knee pads and helmet for high risk sites as environmental hazards make them appropriate PPE. On my belt I carry a CPR kit, supervisor radio and gloves.
Thirdly, police should be equipped better than me and I fully endorse police agencies to provide this or simular equipment avaliable to them.
Fourthly, my car. Which is no longer my car as it has been purchased off of me. I had attached decals to the car referencing resident evil to prevent any mistaking regarding the nature of my car. Even though I never added a single kilometre onto it.
I am fully aware of the authority I hold and am the first one to have police to respond to an incident if need be. But utilizing proper and adiquite PPE is not a determination of trying to step on anyone else's toes. If you have any questions about this please leave a comment below.
