Yeeeehaaaa!!! Happy Human Rights Day AND Anti-Corruption Day to these brilliant, brave and inspiring legends (and their incredible friends and colleagues) ❤️
Thanks to the powerful advocacy and campaigning of these wonderful ones, the Solomon Islands Government officially launched the groundbreaking Anti-Corruption and Whistleblower Acts today in Honiara. If it wasn’t for these outstanding humans and their inspiring (and tireless) work, these critical pieces of legislation would, very simply, not exist.
Sending so much love and congratulations Team Solo! Yu skel bitim skel mo mi missim yu! 🤗
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Today's workshop was about Health & wellbeing using music as a tool. It was awesome. I really enjoyed being with the rangatahi & interacting with them. Thanks to @dj_poppa_soul for laying down the foundation and allowing me to be apart of this workshop.
Students came up with some music & lyrics and created an original piece of music. Which was a fantastic result.
Hopefully next year we come back & roll into more kura in the Rohe with the model/foundation of Whare Tapa wha.
KEEN TO DO IT AGAIN!

(too shy to share, and apologies if I offend my fellow sāmoan aiga near, far & in the heavens - still learning the gāgana & grateful to have close connections who have the patience to deal with my thoughts, reflections and musings about or to my experiences that have happened over time & space & as of recent 😅 #kalofae lol) 📸: @anna.akeli ✨
So I wanted to talk about Hoop Backings. I like to use pretty cardstock paper, as seen in the picture, because (1) it’s pretty ✨ (2) it’s quick ⚡️ (3) I like this better than the alternatives ⚖️ This style was recommended by @thekitschystitcher 💕
There are many ways to back a hoop and it depends on the artist. How do you back your hoop? And why?
The fantastically impressive Ki’i from Hawaii. One of many contentious and more illustrious objects in the RA Oceania exhibition. It’s is touching to see offerings at his feet in the final days of his display in the Royal Academy. Since the closure of the Museum of Mankind Ki’i and the majority of the BM’s Oceanic objects have not been on perminant display. When will this change @britishmuseum and can I help with the displays?? 😉
Today in Brisbane, communities came out in full force. #PacificPawa to #StopAdani ✊🏾 Keep coal in the ground. It's time to transition to clean energy Australia! We stand in solidarity with Wangan Jagalingou mob & demand climate action by the Australian government.

“Director swallows bug on the set of BLACKBIRD circa 2015”. Thanks to everyone who has tuned into @SBS OnDemand to watch our short BLACKBIRD. This is the last weekend to see it. If you’ve been following the progress of our short film, you’ll know that it’s been a huge adventure over the last 3 years getting the film out into the world with some amazing opportunities and also some low points. And after 2 years since writing the first draft of the feature film BLACKBIRD, I’m still going, trying to get that project “up” as we say. It’s all part of the rollercoaster ride that is filmmaking. But I’m so grateful for the people who been supportive, collaborative and inspiring along the way - that’s YOU! Anyway, if you’re in Australia, check out Blackbird this weekend, tell your friends, send them the link - this is how we can continue to share this story. LINK IN PROFILE - expires Sunday 9 December. Big love, Amie. #BlackbirdFilmProject#nativefilm#ausfilm#filmvic#screenqld#mackay#solomonislands#southseaislander#blackbirding#pasifika#director#filmmaker#femalefilmmakerfriday#femalefilmmaker PS. With all the crazy rain today it reminded me of this hoop. 🌧💦
I have always admired the strength of the ocean waves and the power of hurricane winds. 💨🌊⛈ And to me, they all testify of the majesty of The Almighty Creator.
