The following advice is simple to give, hard to follow.
Success in anything demands execution. In today's world there is no magic bullet for success. If you're doing any form of online marketing, with ppc, Facebook ads, a blog, Google Ads, anything... you need to periodically invest time in tweaking and optimization your earlier efforts.
If nothing else, take 30 minutes every other week to see if what you set out to achieve is working for you and act accordingly if it isn't. There's such a thing as over-analizing, but not analyzing is in the same area and just as bad.
It is extremely likely that if you're starting out with anything, and that includes online marketing, you'll make many mistakes before you hit your stride. Becoming aware of those mistakes, pinpointing them and improving upon them is key to your growth. In Google Ads this includes getting your negative keywords right, creating new campaigns and ads based on longtail search terms and adding ad extensions. Do this and watch yourself become more adept and successful in your endeavours.
