I just read on IMDB; "In 1982 before it was released, Fangoria magazine had a contest called Draw the Thing to see if anyone could guess what it was going to look like. The winner won a trip to Universal Studios." So who's holdin'? Anyone have the '82 Fango library, and wanna post the entrants? @outpost31dotcom @fangoria

This is a rereview: Where do I even start? This movie is incredible, that’s where I’ll start. This movie does everything right, there is legitimately nothing wrong with this movie. Everything is perfect. Everyone’s acting is fantastic, and you root for every character. Even if they’re going against Macready, you still understand and sympathize with their viewpoint. I can’t not mention the practical effects and how amazing they are, some of the best practical effects in cinema. So gooey, so slimy, so fleshy, so real. The effects were mostly shot in dark lighting, this is how it should always be done. Even if the effects look great in full lighting, shoot them in the dark because it’ll be even better (An American Werewolf in London’s transformation is the only exception). Macready is one of the greatest hero’s of horror, people love the character but I don’t think many people understand how great of a character he is. This movie is so convincing too, it’s weirdly realistic even though it isn’t at all. The concept of an alien that does THIS is super unrealistic, but it’s done so well that it IS realistic. It’s really something that needs to be experienced, I’m so glad that I bought it after viewing it only 2 times. I have no doubts in my mind that it’s one of the greatest films of all time, and is definitely in my top 10. It’s clear that this movie gets a 10/10
