This is an authentic set of four associated Ancient Egyptian wooden ushabti!
Dating back to the New Kingdom Period, 18th to 20th Dynasty (ca. 1567-1085 BCE), these beautiful hand-crafted figurines would make a museum-quality addition to any collection.
In the historic record, wooden Ushabti are significantly rarer than terracotta or faience specimens - associated sets, even harder to find.
The tallest figurine measures ~4.75" tall and the stand measures ~7.5" wide. Our ancient artifacts come with a lifetime guarantee of authenticity and can be shipped worldwide!
We are asking $3945CAD (~2998USD), buy it now on www.SkullStore.ca or in-store Thursday-Sunday (12-6pm) at 1193 Weston Rd, Toronto.
When an Ancient Egyptian died, they did not casually go off to a relaxing paradise. They believed their existence of servitude simply transitioned from one set of Gods to another.
Produced in great numbers, these ushabti figurines would be called upon by the deceased in their afterlife and would ease the individual's netherworldly workload.
Large ushabti would often contain an inscription from the book of the dead: "Illuminate the Osiris [name of the deceased], whose word is truth. Hail, Shabti Figure! If the Osiris [name of the deceased] be decreed to do any of the work which is to be done in Khert-Neter, let everything which standeth in the way be removed from him - whether it be to plough the fields, or to fill the channels with water, or to carry sand from the East to the West. The Shabti Figure replieth: "I will do it, verily I am here when thou callest".

Comments 🤔: Decided to try this place during lunch because I was craving some spicy rice cakes. Overall it was a good experience! The restaurant looked very modern and chic, and the service was pretty quick since it wasn't super busy when I went. The rice cakes had a nice, chewy consistently which was a plus for me because I've tried other places in North York that were overcooked and had a crunchy texture. I love the addition of the fishcake and egg since a plate of ricecakes would be plain alone. The sauce wasn't too spicy but the amount of it was a little overwhelming for me, like it was a soup base (would've preferred if it was just a dipping sauce on the side personally).
Would go again? ✔
