Hello!💧For today’s #31daysofcosplay I’m posting my Prisoner Nitori! This cosplay was so comfy and fun, but no one really recognized it except a few free! fans. A little cosplay vs character if you swipe~ 🦆I love my sweet duck son 💕💕
Wow, Episode 6 got me GOOD. If you guys don’t have at least some sympathy for Hiyori now, I really don’t know what to say. From what I understood, Hiyori’s parents never really paid attention to him, and he wasn’t very good at making friends. As a result, he’d always play by himself, and he enjoys reading- a solitary and introverted activity. Because Hiyori didn’t make many friends save for Ikuya, he’s afraid to lose Ikuya to someone else (and since Haruka is a huge threat to that, he tried to bring down Haruka), and cares for Ikuya like a brother. Think about it- if you had ONE friend, wouldn’t you love that person to death… but be scared of losing him/her? Friendships can be over quick, and Hiyori wants to make sure this is one that lasts. In a horrifying twist, Ikuya is hurting Hiyori more than Hiyori cares to admit. Hiyori’s lack of social skills also explains why he’s trying to keep Haru & Co. away from Ikuya using these strange methods, and it’s also why he views Haru as an enemy- not a potential friend. All this in turn is hurting Haru, who doesn’t understand what happened to make Ikuya this way, and why Hiyori keeps trying to keep the two of them apart.
In turn, Ikuya himself is confused and frustrated with himself. He thinks that showing emotions is a weakness, and when he sees Haru, his middle school self starts bubbling to the surface- a side of him that he has dubbed as ‘weak.’ He doesn’t believe he can turn back from the path he’s heading…
This episode was definitely a much needed break from the Ikuya/Hiyori/Haruka/Makoto/Asahi drama. It was great to see Sousuke, and I loved that he’s finally being decisive in his own decisions (he could’ve acknowledged Nagisa though lol). Natsuya probably expected as much- he’s helped both Rin and Sousuke now (Sousuke a lot more though)... I wonder where he’s going to go next? Momo was adorable as always, and I felt a strange sense of pride when I saw Nitori standing in front of a whole group of boys and not stuttering in his speech. Rin was right- Nitori definitely did make a wonderful leader. I wonder if Rin’s ways rubbed off on him a little?
Ah, Rei and Nagisa. They’re definitely a sight for sore eyes! I didn’t know Rei could be so emotionally intact with his underclassmen, and Nagisa is bubbly and kind as always. It’s great that they didn’t change Nagisa like they changed Haru; he would be a different person and more boring to watch. Romio is quickly climbing the ranks in terms of how much I love him. Even though he’s scarred by something that every swimmer must go through (I’ve had a few false starts in my lifetime- actually, one of my friends gets a false start practically every meet smh), I know he’ll get up and move on. Being in a relay will definitely help him with that! I’m liking the contrast between Gou and Ayumu’s personalities, but I still don’t like Ayumu’s high voice. It sounds too stereotypical. -
I especially can’t wait for the next episode, because we’ll FINALLY get the scoop on Ikuya and Hiyori’s past! I’m looking forward to a cinnamonroll Hiyori as well, plus lots of angst. :3
