Almost forgot how much fun these IG yoga challenges are! Happy for a daily reminder to stop what I’m doing, hop outside and get a dose of fresh air & yoga. I’ve been so damn cranky and PMSy these past few days this was much needed 😩🙏🏽
Yesterday, me and @radikaraa went to the city for a kundalini yoga class with the guru @gurmukh108 (swipe ➡️➡️➡️)! We saw her at the movie about yoga and then a week later I see that she is coming to the city to teach a class!

It was my first kundalini yoga experience ever. It was weird, funny, challenging, open... transforming. By the end of the practice I had goosebumps and couldn’t get up as my head was spinning and I felt the vibration in my whole body.

Words that I have heard before but never paid enough attention to hear. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Thank you @alonewyork for organizing this awesome event! 5 years ago and new to Charleston, I took this picture during my daily commute between school and work. This was when my time was not actually my time at all - it was dictated by class schedules, homework due dates, and working multiple jobs. Somehow, I always paused to clear my mind and be grateful for the beauty along the way: things like seeing the marsh birds catching fish, water oaks with moss shading my drive, and, of course, this picture of the sun peering through the clouds after a storm. This picture is just a simple reminder to slow down, no matter how busy life gets. Calm your mind and think of the most serene place, even if you've never been there, or if it's just your imagination. And meditate on that image, slowing your thoughts, and never stopping on any thoughts that aren't peaceful. Realize and rejoice that we can have beautiful moments and beautiful thoughts any time we want. Let your day be about these soothing moments, and soon you will find that you have more and more of them everyday without even trying. .

I don't think Mr. Frankl was referencing how to change and fit in with the crowd, but rather how to show up for yourself by releasing the old story of how things were supposed to be, how they were supposed to turn out, what they were supposed to lead to and with whom...and learning how to embrace the shifts around the new story, who is a part of it now, probably setting new boundaries, trusting that it will be alright, and witnessing the growth. Goals are great, so is a capacity for adjusting the sails as the nonlinear path unfolds. Embrace the hurt. Embrace the growth. Embrace the lesson. Select the path of least resistance. Celebrate. If we resist what needs our attention, it's hard to journey forward. lotus flow! 🌸🕉 if you are still working towards finding your #lotus or #halflotus - swipe right for a modified version with a strap - this figure-eight wrap can be used in lotus (as shown) or half lotus (with left foot under right knee) ➡️ once you have your version of #padmasana (with or without the strap) ➡️ find your seat and engage your #uddiyanabandha (and keep it engaged through the rest of the flow to protect your low back) ➡️ lift to #lolasana ➡️ come back to a seat then lie back as far as you can (to hands, forearms, bolster or back) ➡️ return to a seat then try to balance on the knees (🤣 or not) ➡️ come all the way forward as far as you can (to hands, forearms, bolster or belly), maybe lift the chest for a #backbend ➡️ lift back up to attempt balancing on the knees again (🤣🤣🤣) ➡️ then come all the way back to #shoulderstand (pressing hands into thighs and thighs into hands for #balance ) ➡️ return to your seat 💙 #yoga#pittsburghyoga#yogaeverydamnday#namaste

Day 8 of #meltinthesun is wheel + hip opener. Yesterday in flow @msurobo25 talked about how we shouldn’t force our body into poses, but rather, should allow our body to surrender to the pose. This Wide legged wheel felt real nice, I did a back bend into this and there was a definite surrender. ☀️💗💓•

Play time 😂😂 we attempted to replicate something I saw on @talia_sutra 's Instagram - it's fair to say our ones is not quite like hers 🙈😂 but we had so much fun trying to figure out how to do this - couple problem solving activity! By the way if you are wondering who Talia Sutra is she's my favourite teacher ever, I absolutely love her lessons on Alo Moves, if you haven't tried them yet I highly recommend 💕
