How To Create A Life You Love: Be The Artist of Your Life
Release Your Creativity/Rebecca Schweiger
Step Back & Gain Perspective
I constantly share with my students that in order to truly see and appreciate your artwork, you MUST step WAY back from the canvas.
Physically stand up, cross the room and look from a brand new perspective.
When you look at something from too close up, there's a good chance you will knit pick, overly examine under your mental microscope, lose perspective, and forget what really matters. You become so close up that you are blinded to the beautiful truth that is right under your nose.
When you step back, you create more space to see the real truth. You gain new perspective. You suddenly understand the bigger picture. You see purpose and beauty in your own imperfections where, previously, all you saw was failure and annoyance. A sense of achievement replaces the earlier feeling of self-doubt.
Stepping back from your canvas- your life- allows you to see the bigger picture of how the many pieces of your life join together to create one rich, textured, moving and beautiful masterpiece in progress. Mindfully, with a big dose of compassion and without judgement, you assess what is working well and what might require more of your attention.
With healthy perspective, you pause to appreciate and honor all that you've created in your life. You take a bow to your inner-self and appreciate how far you've truly come, the heartbreaking challenges you've endured, the richness of your choices and successes, and the tender, imperfect and glorious beauty that you, indeed, created on the canvas of your precious, one-of-a-kind life. #nycart#nycartist#nycartists#nycarts#nycartgallery#nycartscene#nycartshow#nycartcollector#nycartlife#nycartdealer#nycartscollective#artofinstagram#artphotography#Artstudio#artcollective
