On November 20 at 9:50 am CT, we're celebrating our 20th anniversary! Tune in as we ask YOUR questions to the crew in space! Reply with your question in the comments, or film yourself asking it (landscape-style & in English), then upload to YouTube with #SpaceStation20th in the title by November 16.
Apollo 12 is launched on November 14th, 1969 from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. This was the second manned mission trip by the NASA crew to the moon.
The crew comprised of Commander "Charles Conrad, Jr.", the Command Module Pilot "Richard F. Gordon, Jr." and the Lunar Module Pilot, "Alan L. Bean".
The space craft landed on the moon 5 days later on November 19 and was the first spacecraft to take successfully a color TV camera to the moon.
They brought back with them about 75 pounds of moon rock that was mostly basalt formed from molten lava, which indicates that the Apollo 12 landing sight was over 300 Billion years old.

Today I got to interview an astronaut! Major General Charles F. Bolden Jr. took 4 successful missions into space, this was after he piloted in the US Marine Corps. As Administrator for @nasa, it was under him that the Curiosity rover landed on Mars! Not to mention he was part of the first diverse space team. He also told me whether he believes in aliens. This is bucket list stuff, and what an honour it was!🚀

During operation IceBridge - @nasa’s largest airbone survey to map Earth's polar ice-scientist Jeremy Harbeck spotted two rectancular icebergs floating off the northern Antarctic Peninsula. He says: "I thought it was pretty interesting; I often see icebergs with relatively straight edges, but i've not seen one before with two corners at such right angles like this one.” The data collected during the mission will help scientists better understand processes that connect the polar regions with the global climate systems

Shot of the moon from the Apollo 10 spacecraft featuring an ACS (Attitude Control System) thruster. These tiny rocket engines controls the orientation of the spacecraft and allowed it to move around with extreme precision. 💨

A multitude of magnificent, swirling clouds in Jupiter's dynamic North North Temperate Belt is captured in this image from NASA's Juno spacecraft. Appearing in the scene are several bright-white “pop-up” clouds as well as an anticyclonic storm, known as a white oval.⠀
This color-enhanced image was taken at 1:58 p.m. PDT on Oct. 29, 2018 (4:58 p.m. EDT) as the spacecraft performed its 16th close flyby of Jupiter. At the time, Juno was about 4,400 miles (7,000 kilometers) from the planet's cloud tops, at a latitude of approximately 40 degrees north.⠀
Citizen scientists Gerald Eichstädt and Seán Doran created this image using data from the spacecraft's JunoCam imager.⠀
