A big day for #AlbertaBalletDancer Hayna Gutierrez! This Cuban-born dancer was with Ballet National de Cuba before choosing to move to Alberta to join Alberta Ballet. ⠀
Today she took her oath of citizenship and became #Canadian ! Congratulations Hayna!⠀
(If you think her face looks familiar: Hanya was the dancer we featured in our ads for #TheSleepingBeauty !)⠀

Thank you, Canada, for welcoming us with open arms. For opening a world of wonderful opportunities to my kids and myself. May the González-Hernández-Espinal Caribbean heritage roam these lands for many generations to come. ❤️ 🇨🇦 🇩🇴
Few things I found around the #citizenship ceremonies today in Vancouver.
Welcomed over 100 #newcanadians today
The #diversity of places people have come from is amazing! Over 30 different countries of origin. The smiles and tears of joy are so moving to see.

We spent two years in Cayman before deciding to immigrate to Canada. It was a relatively painless sponsorship process and only five months of waiting when we arrived in Toronto. I can still remember your “Congrats on getting PR” dinner at Grace in Chicago, the day you landed and getting to go to the resident line at immigration, and your first day of work. Fast forward three years to when we applied for your citizenship to the day you finally received your letter of invitation to take your oath. I am so super proud of you and everything you’ve achieved and couldn’t be more thrilled to have been by your side through the journey. Visa free travel, here we come!
Today on day 23 of #100daysofgratitude I'm grateful to be Canadian
It's such a blessing to be living in a safe country that attracts great people to it and is respected internationally
Luh you Canada 😘🇨🇦

I became a Canadian citizen!
#Canada has made me develop personally and professionally while my family and friendships have grown, and I couldn’t be happier.
Seis intensos procesos de inmigración, por mi misma, que hoy son todo sonrisas. “El veritable Nord, fort i lliure” és també ara, el meu país.
Congratulations to the 40 new citizens at #ICC2018 citizenship ceremony at @viarailcanada station in #Ottawa ! Félicitations aux 40 nouveaux citoyens à la cérémonie de citoyenneté au @viarailcanada gare d’Ottawa! #mycitizenship#macitoyenneté @citimmcanada @citimmcanfr @ahmeddhussen
It was a brand new feeling that I have never experienced before. Having a new nationality while still keeping and remaining true to your own roots. I strongly believe it’s comparable to a new beginning such as marriage while you move out of your family home to spread your wings and experience what life has to offer. As keeping in mind the lessons that you learned and what they have done for you.
Or like joining a new team while your heart remains with your original team which shaped you into whom you are. Taught you life lessons and how to succeed in every aspect you put your mind too.
Now, I have more responsibilities in my life. From now on, there are two people, two cultures, and two countries that I must take care of. One I was born, grew up, got married, also made a lot of good memories in. And other, helped me to step in a new era and encouraged me to take risks to build up my future in better way. I believe my liability is now doubled. It is not easy but I try my best to make both proud of me. 🇨🇦🇮🇷❤️🇮🇷🇨🇦
