Arias is back in action for the first time since losing out on points to Daniel Jacobs in New York last November, siting a huge blister as the cause of him having to adopt a defensive approach against the now-IBF World champion who handed him a first career loss in his 19th fight.
When ‘Cuba’ and Rosado met in a press conference to announce the fight in the Big Apple, the pair exchanged harsh words on their respective career – with Rosado’s ‘bitch’ jibe a counter to Arias pointing out the number of losses and KO’s the Philadelphian has suffered – and a $10,000 wager being laid on the bout.
The pair will talk for one final time at tomorrow’s press conference in Wichita and Arias expects to hear more of the same, but he’s ready to prove that doubters wrong and show the Jacobs loss has made him a stronger fighter. “That's his only stab at me to say that I ran like a bitch against Jacobs,” said Arias. “But I didn't get KO'd. He's had two feet against plenty of guys and got KO'd, beaten up badly. I had a little scratch on my face after the Jacobs fight. “I was physically and mentally ready for the fight and I believed I would win. I made a rookie mistake with my footwear and I learned a lesson the hard way. “The fact that I was able to get out of that fight against a 190lbs guy with just a scratch, it shows I can compete with the best and it's time to get my things in order and really prove that I can hang with all the top guys. “I am putting pressure on myself to erase the bad taste I left last time, that's the task this weekend. I need to prove that I am not a little bitch. It may have looked like I ran like one but I am not - I had to do that to survive and make the 12 rounds. PLUS if you have a competitive side and you’re sweating it out with peeps who might be a little faster, stronger, fitter than you they’re probably going to be a huge motivator / positive influence‼️
ACCOUNTABILITY // We often hear clients say “I totally would’ve slept in today if I knew so and so wouldn’t tease me for not being here!” They are holding each other accountable, and it’s amazing. Most instructors track who is there each class. If people are missing, the instructor / their friends from the group will check in and more than likely get their booty’s back into class.
CAMARADERIE // We are social creatures. A few of us might have our hermit moments but mostly we crave community and bonding with others. When you join a class, you’re probably going to meet some like-minded people who will inevitably become your friends. About a sewing class for the kiddos on November 16th! For $5 your munchkin can learn a few hand sewing basics like threading a needle, tying off thread, blanket stitch, & more! The little sweeties will be making a rice heating pack to keep, or give as a gift. The three patterns to choose from are Owl, Cat, or Colorful Square. Kids will need to be here from 4-6. (Which shouldn’t be a problem because they’ll be having so much fun!)

💦 After a good workout do you feel a lil’ bit dizzy, lightheaded, have painful muscle cramps, or nauseated? Those are all signs of dehydration, people! Symptoms of severe hydration include mental confusion a loss of consciousness. (YIKES!) It might seem silly to remind folks to drink water, but it is so so so important. 💦 🚴🏽♀️

While there are no exact rules for how much water to drink while working it out, there are some basic guidelines to follow before, during, and after you sweat it out. Start drinking water BEFORE you start exercising. 17 to 20 oz. about 2-3 hours before. Then about 8 oz. during your warm-up. While exercising drink 7-10 oz. every 10-20 minutes finally drink 8 oz. no more than 30 minutes after you’re done exercising. Some athletes even measure how much fluid they’re losing during exercise to get a more specific measurement of how much to drink. (That’s hardcore💪🏽.) Always check with your doctor to get details on your specific needs. ✅🏋🏽♀️

☀️Tabata. What the heck is that!?! We are often asked about the best ways to fit exercise into a busy schedule. While there are lots of ways, Tabata is one of our faves. (Yes. We meant to rhyme.)

Here’s what ya do... ▪️Work out H A R D for 20 seconds
▪️Rest for 10 seconds
▪️Repeat the cycle for 8 rounds.

Here’s an example🏋🏽♀️
20 seconds of high intensity push-ups. Rest for 10 seconds. More push-ups for 20 seconds... once you’ve completed 8 sets R E S T for 1 full minute. Next move onto squats, then burpees, then mountain climbers. Repeating the same intervals as you did with the push-ups. High Intensity is the key here, people‼️

My dad and I went to draw today in Mulvane. We pushed past the overgrown grass where the street ended, four dogs barking behind a chain link fence. A train was standing still a quarter mile away, so we crossed over the tracks and passed under the railroad bridge. We stood there over an hour. Me drawing, dad reading a book. Sun casting deep shadows under the plate girders and wood piers. Train idling in the distance, hawk circling silently overhead. We were about to leave when we heard a low rumble.
