We use the 5 R's to heal the gut:
3. Reinoculate: Help beneficial bacteria flourish by taking in probiotic foods or supplements that contain the so-called “good” bacteria such as bifidobacteria and lactobacillus species, and by consuming the high soluble fiber foods that good bugs like to eat, called “prebiotics.”
sei rara per come ti comporti,
non c’è da ridere.
per quello che fai
senza farlo vedere
per le volte che ti perdi
dentro i tuoi pensieri.
e parli troppo
fino a non trovarti più.
I wasn’t always into food. And I most def wasn’t always healthy (although, full truth: I totally thought that I was).
Dieting? Yes. Whatever new trend or fad came out? All about it. Cooking? I mean, who really had the time? Plus why did you need to when there were bars, protein powders and healthy cereal to get by on.
For more than 15 years of my life, I couldn’t have cared less about food and all that I was missing out of life, with a disconnected & weird relationship to it.
I religiously followed all the “rules”:
. - eat a huge breakfast, a medium lunch and a light dinner.
- snack all the time, it’s better for your metabolism
-no matter what you do, never skip breakfast
-non-fat always -if you want to lose weight and burn fat, workout more. It’s a simple equation, duh.
-vegetarian and plant based is always healthier
- coffee helps you lose weight
-stevia and agave are much healthier than other sugars.
And that it was normal to always be half- thinking about food and whether I was being GOOD or BAD with it that day.
That it was normal to feel guilty about food, and try and “make up for it” the next day.
That it was normal to have sugar cravings everyday after lunch. And normal to need coffee to start my mornings. And normal to always feel kind of hungry and get intense cravings.
I’d swing from being perfect and in control to OH WHATEVER, I already ruined the day, so I’ll just have that extra glass of wine and the pasta and dessert... and start over tomorrow. Or that next Monday.
I didn’t realize I had it all wrong. That mostly everything I had learned or heard in the “healthy” world was actually backwards and not helping me get the results I wanted. (Yes, all of those things above) 👆🏻
But even more than that-I didn’t realize how much headspace and how much joy and how much of my life I was missing out on.
I didn’t know there was another way.
What I wish I HAD known, and what I wish someone had told me in my 20’s instead? All in today’s new blog post- Part 2 of my own story & how I fixed my relationship to food for good.
And everything that changed because of it.
New, today. Link is up in my profile 💓#simplyrealhealth
